You can finally hide your naughty games on Steam

Hopefully this can be brought over to workshop items too.
If I wanna share all my subs I'll tell them myself thank you.
I always add a bunch at once so it spams thwm a little.

Steam Deck - SteamOS 3.5.11 Preview 'Until Morale Improves' now available
16 Dec 2023 at 5:21 am UTC

Quoting: ShinyaOsenI wish waking the steam deck with a non-steam game open from sleep wouldn't log me out on desktop when i have a game open on it. When I'm in queue for games I want to use my steam deck since I have GOG and emulated games on it but if I forget to go into offline more I just log my self out on my computer.
I run into this issue too.
Thankfully using the QR code function of the Steam app works fast enough most of the time but it is bothersome.
Sometimes I'm waiting for friends and I wanna play something in the mean time.
Be nice if we could designate a single Deck to our accounts to allow us to play multiple games at once with a block on playing the same game twice perhaps.
That or a way to turn on offline mode with a button combo I Guess but I'd rather use a Deck and PC at the same time.
Sticking with non-games should also be free of this issue by default one would think but I guess it's just set globally.

Update wise I thought the USB mode was an OLED only thing.
Maybe I heard wrong or thinking of something else.

Story Mode for Them's Fightin' Herds cancelled and active development to cease

Played this a lot till the 3.0 update took away the fun.
Was a Pom main (unique puppet character) but, the drastic nerf and super meter build speed made things less fun for me.
Such a strange change gave me a hint something was wrong.
Ontop of changing publishers and releasing a console version which seemed a bit early for that.
Seasonal events stopped too.

Game felt like it still needed a lot of work but what it did do is make one of the best online lobby systems with a unique semi co-op game mode inside it and I wish it would be a standard for all indie fighters.

Big shame it's gonna be left undone and more so cause it likely can't go open source due to not owning the base engine if they even wanted to in the first place.
They said they wouldnt offer the old versions either but I think they owe it to the fans to make legacy versions available for the sake of preservation.

Least they completed the first story chapter which had some Treasure style boss fights but that was just a taate of what the fans were expecting.

Thankfully the community seems to be very restless about it so maybe the game won't be left and forgotten completely.

Very unique fighting game which I guess now will be cheap to try and worth a look at least to learn from what unique things it did accomplish.

Get lots of The Walking Dead and more in Humble's Skybound Games Bundle
26 Nov 2023 at 9:03 pm UTC

Actually a lot of interestong games in there but I could do without the walking dead games.
For me those are kinda filler.
I just want the weird and colorful stuff.
Be nice if they gave subscribers a way to choose what they want so not to double dip.

Check out Doom Infinite, a Doom-based FPS roguelike mod for GZDoom

Been playing this one on my PC and Steam Deck for different sessions.
Sadly the command line stopped working as a non-steam shortcut for some strange reason and totally ignores all the commands.
I just moved on to play on PC instead and ended up with a dual chain gun that shoots green walls of insta death to anything and everything.
It can be really tough to find the rare icon item for unlocking certain rooms in the hub world and some aren't permanent unlocks either so I've just been backing up my save and continuing with my green wall of death chain gun till I can find the darn things.
I at least managed to open up the shop which improves the game some.
Perhaps later updates will balance the difficulty starting out cause it can be super rough really fast then once I'm over powered the challenge is gone somewhat.

Overall the clever use of random changes to the maps and the hub world, extra animations etc is some fine master work.

Curious how forcing multiplayer might work out though, hopefully a multiplayer consideration could be built in for later versions.

It's a great mod worth at least trying a few times.

Same with Reelism 2 which is great on the Steam Deck for quick runs as well.

Valve reveals Steam Deck OLED for November 16th
9 Nov 2023 at 9:03 pm UTC

Quoting: DerpFoxI really don't know if I should feel happy that the deck is getting upgraded, showing how well it is doing. Or really angry that it is getting upgraded so soon. I got the "bigger and better" more expensive Deck thinking about the future, thinking the deck won't get any significant upgrade for the next 5 years (like everything else) and if we needed, we could always go to third parties for bigger SSD, batteries etc. And here I am 1 year later looking at this ... that really doesn't sit right with me. And the thing I think I hate the most is the limited edition translucent case. Not that I don't like translucent case, I love them, always loved them since I was a kid. If this was available when the deck first got out, I would have bought it. No, what I hate the most is the "limited edition", I really despise that kind of thing. It's really the first time I'm disappointed at valve.
Yeah did the same thing and feeling salty too.
Can't just whip out anothwr 700 bucks on a whim forna version I'd have been down for in the forst place.
Be nice if early adopters got a deal here for their loyalty but eh if it's gonna be like this maybe I'll skip this and a deck 2 as well.
The price to pay when jumping in early I suppose.

I think it woulda been fair if they just waited till next year and announced it now so we could all plan for it and have a chance to resell our current ones before a price drop.

Valve reveals Steam Deck OLED for November 16th

Only been a year and they release a version I wanted in the first place heh.
I have enjoyed the deck but kinda hard to afford a new one right now.

Really wish they offered an upgrade deal for us day one buyers who waited it out and supported the their first release.
Got the 512 with the etched screen I didnt want but I dunno, maybe it'll be considered rare now?

Yeah it does feel too soon for a revision when the warranty has just ended not long ago for day one buyers.
One more year to wait heh.

Least the price is around the same but now I wonder if there will be yet another upgrade next year.
Which would be great if they had an upgrade trade in plan.

Steam Desktop and Steam Deck Beta add new Gyro Mode and fixes in-game purchases
17 Oct 2023 at 7:22 pm UTC

Glitch wise, how bout the battery levels?
Mine still randomly shuts off at 30% or more and requires retraining, especially if I let it idle in sleep for too long like a day.
Maybe I just need to clean install my os and start fresh.
Battery itself is still operating at full or near full capacity it's just irritating.

Gyro and overall analog configurations wise, I'd like to see more advanced control options.
A lot of these modes dont match what I want and I'd like to set it up raw one to one input sometimes.
For a game that aims where you hold for example or flight games.
Also I might be the only one who wants to tie two flight sticks into one virtual pad.
If only there was a plugin system for crazy stuff.

GuliKit reveal SNES styled dock for Steam Deck and other handhelds
2 Sep 2023 at 7:09 pm UTC

Card storage and usb ports at front wouldnbe nice.
Could wire up a hub and sacrifice a usb port for four more ports up front.

Not a bad design but for the price it'll likely be I'd like more functionality.

I'd reqlly like to see a veritical dock
Quoting: slaapliedje
Quoting: shadow1w2Four USB ports in front would be nice even if it had to reroute a USB port in the back for it.
Two back USB ports would be enough perhaps.
As much as I have nostalgia in the SNES I would like to see a Sega Genesis/Sega CD/Saturn styled one some day.

I suspect the price will be a bit high though so can't say I'd impulse buy one but if it's compact enough I could find it useful in travel.
Tower of Power version!
Yes, thousand times yes!
