Vampire Survivors is getting a co-op mode
26 Jun 2023 at 9:50 am UTC

Quoting: Linux_RocksWelp, I bought it from Microsoft for the Play Anywhere, and it was before I knew of a native Linux version in the works too. At least my friends have it on Steam, and I can just remote play with them I guess. I'd have gotten it on Steam had I known better. This happens with games every now and then. You buy it on one storefront, only to later wish that you'd have gotten it on another instead. *sighs*
While it sucks to buy twice, you could think about getting it on Steam, too. Far from a perfect solution, but the game is on sale for something like 4$ every once in a while and it is a pretty good game.
That being said... while my experience with games on Linux is limited, I would never bet on Microsoft to make your life any easier. Vampire Survivors runs pretty well with Proton even on slower hardware and if there ever is a chance for a game to have a native version I recon your chances are much better going with Steam than with the MS Store.

Get a free copy of Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition with Prime Gaming

[...] you don't need to keep your Prime subscription active [...]
AFAIK you never need to do that. All the games you ever claimed can still be played after unsubscribing from Prime. Just don't delete your amazon account, you still need it to log in to the downloader.

ScummVM 2.7.0 'The Real Slim Shader' supports even more classics
13 Mar 2023 at 9:46 am UTC

Quoting: slaapliedjeAh! Thanks. Makes sense. So then... one could play the first one native on the Amiga, and the second one via ScummVM. (And yes I realize ScummVM requires a fairly beefy Amiga, but I have a few).
I sold my slightly broken Amiga500 in the mid 90s, shortly after getting my first PC. Shouldn't have done that.
Emulation to the resuce!

Quoting: pbTIL there's Faery Tale Adventure II
I've only ever played the first one.
Oh, boy – Faery Tale Adventure! That's a game I haven't seen mentioned in a long time... I played the first one quite a bit on my Amiga back in the 80s. Haven't ever played the second one either. Maybe I should give it a try.

Paradox plan announcements next week, like a new game from Cities Skylines dev
2 Mar 2023 at 9:45 am UTC

Quoting: PinguinoThat sounds nice and all, but isn't announcing an announcement kind of like scheduling a meeting to schedule a meeting?
You joke, but I've seen that happen at work... :dizzy:
