Can you install the native version? It's one of my favorite games on Linux.
I don't know for the performance, but it runs better than the last one with my gf660.
And probably I'm strange, but I prefer a slow running native game than having to run it on proton/wine and the developers no supporting Linux.
On steamdb it's still listed as Linux https://steamdb.info/app/203160/ [External Link]

$88? It's expensive for a case.

Just get rid off the anti-cheat systems, many (or all) are rootkits and worsens the performance.
Well or at least let play the game without anti-cheats if you don't care about multiplayer.

Quoting: PhiladelphusI'm curious, anyone know what those programs shown on the screens are? Some sort of diagnostics or software update or something?I speculate that it's showing the input. Many bars at the center (analog buttons), and it has boxes for the joysticks.

It has to many flows for me. It's nice that you can have a linux option. But the keyboard is terrible, no trackpad/invisible, you cannot change the battery or the ram, to few usb ports, no dvd drive, and it's expensive.
No, I'm not interested.

Nice. Hope that the changes are the self tapping screws. And probably I'll find a screen protector, even with the case shouldn't be a problem.

Icculus it's god. When we didn't have steam, he brings us many ports we own him a lot.
Hope this update goes well. And I understand that if anyone wants to use opengl/vulkan in raw, they will be able to use it, like the other parts of sdl.

9 years already?
Steam really helped gaming on linux. Before there where a few published games for linux, then came humblebundle with some more. But steam helped to have more much ports. Even more, when they release proton, that helped to be able to play many windows games... With wine it's not easy to make it work.
And moreover, apart for the steam store, valve helped improve wine. And now, with vulkan, we have extra performance even on windows games. Translating directx9 to opengl it's difficult and needs many cpu cycles.
Really valve it's helping for linux gaming (for they interest).
In a short time, or already is, will be better for playing windows games than windows (bloaded) os.
Ps. There it has been more than 2 years than I don't boot the windows partition, even for playing.

It's a great neews, but we need to upgrade to be portable. It has too assembly and dos/windows specifics.
I never played the games, but I think it's one of the great of its time.

Meanwhile we lost support for kepler gpu. I would buy a new gpu if the prices where "normal".
Hope they keep support on a legacy driver.
