9 years already?
Steam really helped gaming on linux. Before there where a few published games for linux, then came humblebundle with some more. But steam helped to have more much ports. Even more, when they release proton, that helped to be able to play many windows games... With wine it's not easy to make it work.
And moreover, apart for the steam store, valve helped improve wine. And now, with vulkan, we have extra performance even on windows games. Translating directx9 to opengl it's difficult and needs many cpu cycles.
Really valve it's helping for linux gaming (for they interest).
In a short time, or already is, will be better for playing windows games than windows (bloaded) os.
Ps. There it has been more than 2 years than I don't boot the windows partition, even for playing.

It's a great neews, but we need to upgrade to be portable. It has too assembly and dos/windows specifics.
I never played the games, but I think it's one of the great of its time.

Meanwhile we lost support for kepler gpu. I would buy a new gpu if the prices where "normal".
Hope they keep support on a legacy driver.

It seems old games. I think all were from dos. They probably will only put dosbox and republish.
But this is better than doing nothing.

I guess I have to wait more. I needed a replacement for my geforce 660, but I guess nobody wants my money. I only buy if it had a reasonable price, but this is insane. Moreover nvidia had decided to cut the driver support (but hopefully it had a longterm support branch) for my card, without replacement on the price range that I get that (200-300€).
Next time I'll buy amd/ati, intel, or whatever has good opensource suport, even if it's not the best. I have no integrated gpu on my ryzen.

Looks like the important futex2 work is finally going into the Linux Kernel to help gaming

I like that you can change the joystick and it's modular. Hopefully will be cheap.
On the switch if the joystick goes bad (drifts), you have to buy another controller (I think). And it's expensive.
And well... If they say not to, people will be encouraged to do it.
As for the ssd, probably the coolers will be the slow ones. Well, it needs to be checked. Probably on reviews.
Anywhere does it say if accepts sata ssd or has to be pcie ssd?

Sadly I cannot update the specs (as likely many people). It's not that problem of shortage, as I know some places (online) that can be bought one. But the prices are to hight, 2x or 3x (or more) over a msrp that it's already over-expensive, it's to much for a casual linux gamer like me. It's insane.
RetroArch gets a Steam release bringing emulation to even more gamers

Hope it's a mistake. All dlc/emulators on the system requeriments says that needs windows.
If we have retroarch without cores, it's useless.
