Anima Gate of Memories, the good looking third person action RPG should be on Linux soon

This game popped up on my radar because the voice actor for Zero is Cr1tikal, the penguinz0 master himself.

Quoting: fbtI went through the horrible ordeal of dealing with the HTML email GOL has sent me to post this masterpiece:

You should get the official list of games on Linux and create a wallpaper including the name of all 2,500 and then do a overlay of a yellow penguin face on the ASCII so alls you see is Tux with game names in his form.

Oh and for others out there I found GOL uses the Ubuntu Font.

Also the colors:
Light Blue #001E2C
Dark Blue #006EA1
Grey #222222

You can get more colors using GColor3

While I think it is very cool, I wouldn't realistically be able to use it due to the inclusion of art from games. It's a big grey area when it comes to such things. Very cool design though and I'm sure others would love to use it!

Same goes for ~2 others I saw earlier, I can't use art directly from games (unless they have a clear license to expressly allow it somewhere).
I thought so as well. By seeing the other wallpapers with small games screenshots, I wasn't sure if you accepted "fair use" or not ;)

But I admit this wallpaper is gorgeous :D
Thank you for your compliment, I just wanted to make something and put it out there that would improve Linux Gaming's persona.

It's my understanding that after a work is modified beyond a certain point it becomes a derivative work, thus each included image is not in its original form and subjugated to the same limitations for use similar to how anyone can take I think up to 15 second sound clip from a song and include it in their derivative work with no obligation (thus the entire techno genre).

I even considered doing a color mask over all the letters to make it more monochromatic however I love the personality of the color, and the emotionally charged statement to the world "Hey guys, Linux has AAA games!" that's the message I wanted to make.

If you still feel that way I'm sure I could do a rendition entirely from fan art, I'm not sure if it would strike the same emotional cord, in either case my main purpose was accomplished by creating something cool and sharing it with my friends :)

Say - give me the name of 6 different games (I would recommend a Variety of Genres and some AAA) and I'll try on some art under the CC to see if it's hot or not.

AMD will be hosting a reddit 'ask me anything' and giving away 14 RX 480 graphics cards
27 Jun 2016 at 9:23 pm UTC

Quoting: ShmerlCurrently Mesa and amgdpu seem to be not ready for RX 480 support in Debian testing. I wonder if they'll get in shape soon. Building mesa from source or figuring out how to make dkms module for amdgpu might be fun, but it's not something I particularly want to spend time on and would prefer a ready solution for it.
Any RX 480 owner on Arch can simply install MESA GIT from their CLI like so:
yaourt -S mesa-git lib32-mesa-git

I would be surprised if 7 days elapsed and Arch users didn't create a cusom AUR PKGBUILD specifically including the AMD Patches.

Arch Users are notorious for having the newest shit the quickest out of anyone.

Alls a person will have to do is run the modified kernel for about a month until the patches enter mainline and are common.

Ive used mesa-git, as well as mesa-vulkan-intel-git and I can't remember any problems running from GIT.

AMD may be creating the solution of "not breaking X11" that Ubuntu tried to create by having "Mir Display Server" directly inhouse.

I hope Phoronix test results are as exciting as they're hyping up.

Dolphin, the Gamecube and Wii emulator is working on a Vulkan backend

In the case of Wii / GC, etc... I would just reccomend using the GC or Wii DVD if you have a DVD drive and are worried about not knowing.

Would it be better to say Desktop Shell instead of Desktop Environment or Window Manager? Does it communicate better what it is?

Dude I love this idea of a art competition. We should do more.

This steam sale is wiping me out I think I bought 20 games already :( Must fight impulses XD.

(My strategy is to collect enough Linux games for Big Picture that I'll wipe out my Temporary Windows Rig. I only wish they had a Tony Hawk or Skate game on SteamOS already to quench my sports genre draw.)

Edit:

So I spent a couple hours envisioning and here's my entry. It's 4k
