WOW! Color me impressed. 2033 On Very High, SSAA x2, AF16x, no motion blur, single monitor xorg.conf with AFR SLI and it looks fantastic! Advanced Physx is also working! I wonder if it is using the "new" GPU Physx Nvidia announced back in October or if it is using the CPU. Either way.. like I said, it looks great.
When they said to expect graphic parity with windows I took it with a grain of salt, but I think they actually did it. I will have to get some screen shots from both Linux and windows tomorrow after work and do some comparing, but I'm honestly expecting minor differences if any.
That said In the short time I played(30-ish min) it locked up on me twice so it is not very stable for me unfortunately and about every minute or so it hiccups pretty hard for a second. Other than that it is running 60fps no problem.
EDIT* It has been one helluva day for Linux gaming that is for sure.

I was beginning to think I would never see the day these get "released". :woot:
It has been 8 hours since the last update.. they have to know it is not completely enabled for Linux by now.. seems someone could have went and flipped the rest of the "switches" already.

Glad to see it finally released. I had to tried it since it first went to beta for Linux. It is running MUCH better now and looks GREAT! Thanks Frozenbyte for another awesome game!
Will be nice to try out the new metro games as well whenever they can finally be downloaded. I know what they look like in winblows, can't wait to see what proper usage of OpenGL 4 looks like(assuming it's proper...)!

Running decently for me with all settings maxed with a GTX970 albeit on a single monitor. Frame rate is pretty erratic but it still feels smooth. Considering the old OpenGL version used the game looks really good. I can't help but think if they used a more modern version of OpenGL (they are using 2.something) performance would be much better... why on earth did they target such a low version?? Even Apple uses a MUCH newer version so I just don't get the reasoning. None the less Like I said it runs well enough.
I've got to finish FarCry4 before I really dive into this one though (about 70% through it). I'll play it for a while on Linux so that the sale is counted for Linux but ill more than likely finish it in windows due to no real SLI support in Linux yet and a single card is struggling to render it @ 5760x1080 without turning the settings down to the medium-ish range.
I'm sure everyone is tired of hearing(reading?) me complain about SLI, multi monitors and Linux.. Don't worry.. I complain to Nvidia too. I'm hoping that if I complain enough everywhere one day Nvidia will do the right thing and make it work. It is the single biggest thing other than some games not available to Linux that keeps me booting to windows to play more demanding titles.

BL2 is not really a graphically intensive game. It does run well in Linux though (except for edge cases like mine). Would be awesome if we could get GPU physx for it as BL uses it right.
I have faith infinite will run well if it is Feral and it is the game on the radar, I just wonder if there is going to be compromises to the graphics compared to windows, which is mainly why I was asking about the performance and graphics on Mac as it would be a decent indication of it.
If it does come to Linux and it is as gorgeous as it is in windows it will be hands down the best looking game on Linux.

I guess it is kind of one of those "to each his own" kind of deals. I'm a PC gamer because I like the eye candy and running games at their fullest potential. I would just own a PS4/XBone if that wasn't the case.
With my new setup (i7 5930k + 3x gtx 970's) I can blast through it at 5760x1080.. such a beautiful game. It might not be the worlds most graphically intensive game.. but it uses what it has to great effect.
Hope it does come to Linux.. can't wait to try it out.

Quoting: SeredPlayed it on Windows with my 3 year old AMD 6950 HD on 1920x1200 (16:10 ftw!) and it worked like a charm!with the settings cranked to the max? I'm sure a lot of setups can run it turned down some.

Assuming it is Bioshock: Infinite. Has anyone played it on Mac? How is the performance? It really likes some GPU horse power.. going to be really rough on Linux to push the settings without a beast of a single card or proper multi gpu support which we just don't have.
When I played it in win @ 1920x1080 with the settings cranked up it beat up my 2 gtx 580's. It managed(mostly) but they were at their max pretty much.

GOG & Steam Both Hit Milestones For Linux Games
3 Dec 2014 at 9:49 pm UTC
Considering I was already on freenode it took 2 seconds to join the channel and say "Deadcore works on Linux".. it definitely would have taken more than 2 seconds to clone the repo, search for the listing, edit it, upload it to my github and then submit a pull request. But I didn't get into it with them I just left. Now I play games with the #SteamLUG peeps from time to time and they have always been really nice so maybe that would be the way to go instead of #steamdb.
Now onto the topic at hand, it is nice to see the number of games going up.. now we just need to see the number of games that a majority of people want to play go up and the quality of the big games and graphics drivers to go way up. Many big name titles have released over the past couple of months and the only one to come to Linux was Borderlands: TPS. Gamers who may be interested in switching are not going to switch when they can't play the titles they want to. Granted a bunch of the recent games are so broken on windows they are virtually as playable on Linux as they are in Windows lol. AC:U, FarCry4 I am looking at you.. but I guess that is just "par for the course" for Ubisoft.

Games are marked as working by humans on GitHub by creating a pull request.*beware* Don't goto #steamdb on freenode and tell them about working games they will just give you crap for not doing a pull request. I stopped by to tell them that Deadcore was working and all I got was crap about how it "would have been faster to just do a pull request than to come to the channel and tell them". First and last time I will ever go there, nor will I probably ever help them with their database either after that.
Don't want to use git? Come to #steamdb or #steamlug channel on freenode IRC, and tell us about it.
