Might look to get this (when it's back in stock). I've somehow lost ally spudgers, and every pair of tweezers I've ever owned are crappy, weak things.
And I have a reason to get inside my Deck too as I need to do something to get rid of the headphones whine.

And yeah, I was surprised how badly it ran even on turn 1 on the Linux version, but was absolutely fine through Proton.

Quoting: Mountain ManCivilization VI has a native Linux version, but it runs like a pig. Running the Windows build with Proton gives substantially better performance. It was also missing features when I played it last year, borderless window mode for one was missing but present in the Windows version.
I think the Linux version of Civ V runs acceptably, but it has been some time since I've played it, so I'm not certain.

I'm now playing Fallout 1 for the first time. I grew up with consoles so the CRPG genre as a whole is kinda foreign to me. To be frank, Baldur's Gate 3 is my first proper foray into that kind of game, but it's given me the confidence to give these older classics a chance.

What have you been playing recently?I'm on a comedown from playing a boatload of first person shooters the past month. I replayed DOOM, DOOM 2, Quake, Quake 2, and Heretic last month, and finished DOOM 64 and Amid Evil for the first time this month. I was thoroughly impressed by DOOM 64. In tone it's much more akin to Quake than DOOM, but the gameplay very much feels like - as I've seen some say - the "true" DOOM 3. Amid Evil was rather great too, a couple of dud episodes, but I loved how much enemy variety there was.

The only remotely gaming related issue I've had with Mint is that GOverlay's interface is unreadable.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyGenuine question: what issues would you run into using Mint? Mint is really the only distro I've used since coming from Windows and I haven't had any issues, though I stick almost exclusively to single player stuff if that's what you're referring to.Quoting: legluondunetWhat distribution you will advice for gaming? Not Mint. I love Mint, I use Mint, but Mint is not a serious gaming platform--all its stuff is old, and although I'm sure there are ways to make all the relevant stuff be up to date it's probably a pain. Luckily for me I don't play the kind of game that needs you to be up to the minute.

Ugh, I really can't afford to be sucked into this game again. But it would be rude not to at least see how much better it runs.

Quoting: EnkhielFrom the "big" 4 MOBAs, I am glad I enjoy Heroes of the Storm the most running excellently on Linux. I feel sorry for those peeps though that will be affected. Maybe give HotS a try :)I stand by HotS being the best of the lot, even though it never reached the popularity of the others. How's the playerbase nowadays? I always get an urge to go back, but I know a few years ago it seemed like they were winding down development.

Quoting: pbSo the whole hyped Triple-I Initiative was all about [External Link] announcing a few sequels and DLCs, am I missing something? Zero excitement for me, but then again, I don't watch or care for Triple-A announcements/events, so I guess I'm just not the target audience. What did you think it was going to be? They advertised it pretty heavy as a quickfire showcase of upcoming games, indie games at that, not AAA.
Maniac is classic GTA meets Vampire Survivors - out now on Steam

Very obvious observation, but with the success of Vampire Survivors on the Deck, it sounds perfect for that, so it's a shame to see it has poor gamepad support. For 3 quid I'll pick it up and play it down the line.
Draw 7 and hope you get a good hand in the Steam Deckbuilders Fest

I'm gonna pick up Luck Be a Landlord since I read it was the primary inspiration to LocalThunk when making Balatro.
Though I'll probably buy it and just play more Balatro.

Nice. I first got into classic shooters (DOOM, Quake, Blood etc) a little before games like DUSK, Amid Evil, and Ion Maiden released, but moved onto other stuff when they actually did, so now I'm finally doing a ton of catching up. I finished DUSK a few nights ago which was outstanding, and Ultrakill has been on my wishlist since launch, so this is an easy pickup. Cool to see Quake 2 in there but I would've thought they might as well just stick Quake 1 in with it.
On that note, DUSK made me want to replay Quake and I've gotta be honest, really not as good as I remember. The visuals are very one note, and while the soundtrack is great when it really gets going and compliments the tone nicely, it's very subdued. More importantly, man are some of the enemy types annoying in that game. Even though most are melee or projectile, they might as well be hitscan given how much I get hit by them. Shambler's in particular are just not fun to fight.
