Minecraft mostly thanks to wanting to check out the new stuff in the Nether.

We're giving away two copies of 3dSen PC
25 Jun 2020 at 6:24 am UTC

I wouldn't mind a copy as I've been following it on r/emulation for a while and it's always intrigued me but not enough to shell out money for it.

BStone, a source port for Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold and Planet Strike adds a new OpenGL renderer
18 Mar 2020 at 12:21 pm UTC

Oh nice I've not used this source port really much at all yet outside of having it on my Vita, but glad to hear it's getting an OpenGL render back end. Good engine replacement from what I've seen out of it on my Vita, I'm going to have to give this a try later today.

Project Zomboid just had the biggest Beta release ever overhauling loads of features

Quoting: GuestSounds like it's taking a few ideas from Cataclysm DDA.
They openly admit CDDA is a major influence on the game. But I am glad to see more progress maybe these changes will make it a more palatable single player experience in the long run. As the game currently stands for single player it feels kind of empty for me not a ton to do once you get stuff going the right way now I'm not asking they turn into CDDA level of crazy systems but some more stuff to do and deal with in general outside of the zombies would be good. Still kind of upset I bought the game to play with people on Discord only for said group to ghost right after I bought it on Steam for full price.

Facepunch Studios confirm their plan for the Linux version of Rust, to be split from Windows & Mac

Quoting: Mountain ManSeems like every time these guys make an announcement about Linux, they live up to their name.
Well, it's kinda unlikely we'll ever hear about them again. At least here.
Correct. Unless they suddenly support us again in future, this is likely the last ever post about them :)
See I'm kind of glad I was all ready aware of some of the stuff Facepunch used to pull back in the day with Garry's mod. Nothing about this saga with Rust has really surprised me. Well at least we won't be hearing about them round here, which ironically is how most places are when it comes to Rust seems the last year or two the game has really died off player base wise.

A Short Hike, a very sweet looking casual adventure game will be coming to Linux

I've got the Windows build of the Humble Monthly Trove version running under Wine and it's a fun quick little game to get through.

An interview with Bearded Giant Games about Linux, development and their game Space Mercs
28 Jun 2019 at 5:58 am UTC

Great interview, looking forward to Space Mercs launch. I do have to say it will be weird for me seeing my username in the thanks section of a game I've helped with, even if I'm just doing testing. I wish Zapa all the luck in the world as I know from talking with him working in the Free2Play world is soul crushing in many ways. Hopefully with some luck it will take off and do well on Steam I know I've been shamelessly plugging it a few places here and there when I get the chance. I'm glad I ended up buying ESH a couple of years ago got to meet one of the most interesting people I know online thanks to it, all because of an odd packaging bug related to a name difference between Debian and Ubuntu. I know several beers where drank in the course of that first night ^_^ but in the end we got it sorted out and it helped to prevent problems for any one else down the line.

The massive Terraria 1.4 update "Journey's End" was shown at E3 and looks like a lot of fun

Quoting: EikeIt's great to watch some games continually being expanded. I wonder though if I now bought Terraria, if I wouldn't be overwhelmed by content (others got step by step)...

Terraria is definitely worth getting. You may want to wait for the update to drop before starting a new game, because every big patch usually (but not always) requires generating a new world in order to get all the new features that come with a new update. That said, playing it now is by no means a bad idea, there's still loads of content that makes the game fun.
Yeah for this update generating a new world is going to be necessary as the world gen is being reworked as part of it and there are several new mini biomes being added as well and that's just what has been released via the trailer and update spoilers before the trailer. I'm really looking forward and I might even start a new character once this update drops. But the one thing is this update is not going to come out until probably November or December is what the devs said.

As odd as it sounds I'm really looking forward to the golf stuff the most out of what I seen from the trailer mostly because I know how the mappers are in Terraria and fully expect there to be some absolutely mad ones out there once the update drops and has been out for a while. it is a bit of a bitter sweet moment for me knowing and hearing from the devs this is the last major update and they have a new project that they plan on starting after this. Granted though I mean this one is a doozy of an update as this will basically double the number of items in the game and some older items are having some stuff changed to make them more useful again. I know they said that we should probably expect a few balance tweaks after this and some minor content is also planned for post 1.4 but not much from what they said on the Discord server. All in all I would consider this the game going out with a bang. Plus I fully expect the modding scene to really take off now that the game will be in long term state and doesn't have much other than bug fixes planned after this update.
