Hue, an award-winning platformer where you alter the worlds background colour is now on Linux

I think it's great. I beta tested the Linux version and will hopefully put a review up in not too long. (I can't believe it's been a couple of weeks already since it was released.) The puzzles are fun and never get frustratingly difficult, though some of the puzzles late in the game took me a while to figure out. There are also a few challenges that require somewhat fast reflexes, but nothing that you won't get past after a few tries. It also has secret collectibles, and I quite enjoyed finding several of them. If I were to compare it to other games, I think the closest comparisons (that I've played) are Monochroma and In Between.

EDIT: Regarding the title of the article: wasn't Hue on Linux since release? I thought it was, since the Linux version seemed pretty solid when I tested it the weeks before, but I'm not 100% sure.

GOG now have the challenging minimalistic platformer '140', cool soundtrack that ties into the gameplay

Great game, but I'm not too fond of the challenges at the end of each level either. I played through the normal levels but gave up on the first mirrored level when I realized I'd never get past the end of it.

Refunct, a beautiful, peaceful, short first-person platformer will release the Linux version soon

I think it looks pretty fun. Surprised it's getting a 50% cut though, since it's very cheap as it is.

Quoting: amelcherHey all,

I did the brand new mac and linux ports for Super TIME Force ULTRA. The drm-free builds up on humble are new and I am updating them with critical fixes along with steam (it is much easier to update humble builds these days). What is up there should be pretty good, but I am working on some compat issues with older hardware as we speak.

<3,
Aaron
Thanks, Aaron! :)

You're not wrong:

Quoting: fleskNice to see Super Time Force Ultra on Linux, thanks to Knockout Games. :) And this is the first time The Beginner's Guide has been available DRM free for Linux.

Other than to raise the Linux average and give money to a charity? ;)

Quoting: herycpmy game crass

ERROR: ld.so: object '/home/rio/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/gameoverlayrenderer.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32): ignored.

anyone know how to fix this????
I don't think that's related to your crash. As far as I know, Steam always tries to preload that library for both architectures, so you'd see those kind of messages for any game; even those that work.

You might have better luck debugging the issue by trying to run the game outside of Steam.

IndieDB is having another 24 hour giveaway with Linux support, the indie platformer 'Prison Run and Gun'

I bought Hot Guns when it was released for Linux (in December I think). It's a good game, but very challenging, and I haven't gotten very far. What's most interesting about it is the weight mechanics: If you don't carry any guns, you run fast and jump far, but if you pick up one or two weapons, you're gradually slowed down. The levels are designed in a way that it isn't always a good idea, or even possible, to carry guns.

I'm not surprised the games have positive user reviews, but I haven't played the standalone game yet, since I didn't realize it had appeared in my Steam library until last week.

FOX n FORESTS, a very interesting looking 16-Bit style action platformer is on Kickstarter

Quoting: GuestNice, well at least it looks like they've made some progress, I'm just amazed they are taking so long with it but perhaps they have a small dev team.
I think they're mostly just two (or perhaps three) people working on it.
