That's nice to hear. :) Like scaine, I plan on buying it on launch, and it looks like a game that will take priority over everything else for me.

End Of An Era, LinuxGames Website Looks To Be Shutting Down

Quoting: TimeDoctor
Quoting: XylemonI tried to get into this site, but besides the fact news was almost always months delayed, they felt like making it their plug for personal opinions that may or may not be relevant (beyond game review type of stuff). In a way it's sad to see it die, but GamingOnLinux has been far better in my view.
I think I only posted one editorial on linuxgames.com in the past 15 years, and that was too much for this guy!
I thought that was a great article and not out of place. Thanks for writing that.

That's sad news, and it's a shame if TimeDoctor can't continue to contribute if he's still motivated to do so. :(

Point-And-Click Adventure 'The Apotheosis Project' Released On Steam For Linux

In many cases it's because game development has become more accessible to very small devs, and because many of them work on very small profit margins (or in many cases actually lose money), it's too costly to invest in Apple hardware. As far as I recall, Screen 7's programmer, who is responsible for the Linux build, only has a Windows PC, but is able to build and test on Linux by using a VM.

It hasn't been easy, including a very interesting campaign [External Link] being launched and subsequently canceled
I was really bummed by the unfortunate fate of this project. I've been in contact with the devs, who are self-proclaimed Linux users and was very excited about bringing their open-world parkour game to our platform. They haven't given up on the project though, so hopefully we'll get to include it in a future issue of TFC.

Quoting: mulletdeathWe definitely don't have enough decent jrpgs on Linux (if any?) and maybe games like this succeeding will start to convince Japanese devs over time that we exist. (A man can dream.)
If you mean linear, turn-based adventure RPGs, we have Pier Solar, Evoland, the Costume Quest games and the two first Penny Arcade RPGs (though I'm not sure about the availability of those). I agree that we could use more though, and it would definitely be great with more Japanese games.

Story-Driven Noir Adventure 'Knee Deep' Has Been Released

Not to mention The Fall and The Maker's Eden. Yeah, it can definitely be frustrating to play an episode and then be forced to wait for months for the continuation. The Detail has its second episode out now, but I haven't gotten around to playing it (or covering it on GOL) yet.

Ouch, that's unfortunate. :( Does that mean everything ends up in the same directory, with file path and separators prefixed to the file names?

The Talos Principle: Road to Gehenna DLC Arriving Soon

Quoting: KeyrockIf you like puzzle games then you should definitely play it, Liam. I consider The Talos Principle to be the best puzzle game since Portal, it's fantastic. Also, it's beautiful and runs great on Linux.
Yeah, I loved The Talos Principle, and I'm really looking forward to this one. Was even about to write up an article on it over an unstable 4G connection, but luckily, Liam beat me to it. :) The same announcement on Croteam's website [External Link] has a bunch of gorgeous screenshots.

Quoting: GuestAbout question 12, I wonder how much of those 6% "other" is itch.io…
I'm curious about that too. Itch.io, and to a lesser degree GameJolt, has become really good for DRM free Linux gaming lately. Especially unique indie experiences, though both could benefit from better filtering options.
