Quoting: lucifertdarkLooks like the Point & Click games are making a big comebackProbably has a lot to do with the increasing popularity of tablets, since point-and-clicks are near perfect for those devices. And possibly crowd-funding, since they might be the kind of games that are too ambitious to be making on your own in your spare time, but not mainstream enough to be of interest to most publishers.
Quoting: Pixel-TuxThanks for writing about this. I love Wadjet Eye Games!Yeah, I love Wadjet Eye Games too. I think their main strength is in the writing. I'm looking forward to seeing Dave Gilbert's talks from AdventureX once they're uploaded. He did one called "Shutup! Creating better dialogs with fewer words" that sounds very interesting. It's a good quality in a writer to be able to tell a lot and build atmosphere without using too many words.
I've been trying to get into the Deponia series now that it is on Linux. But despite Deponia's great visuals, I still like Gemini Rue and the Blackwell series way more. They have great stories and logical puzzles.

Croteam just published a launch trailer for the game:
EDIT: Just replaced the teaser with the new launch trailer in the body of the article. Thanks for the suggestion, FutureSuture. :) If anyone didn't catch the teaser, it's embedded in the public test article.

Quoting: SkullyHow is it far-fetched?It's not far-fetched that he's the one doing the port, but that's a common idiom, so it could relate to pretty much anything. Especially since the actual wording there isn't made to be ambiguous. Now if he had left out "D3DX Mesh" from that comment I agree that it would have sounded more like an actual hint.

I played it a bit in my dual-booting days and it's a great game with beautiful visuals and very smooth mechanics. Really looking forward to this one! :)

Bought the game too, even though it's probably not my kind of game. Would love to see games like Unmechanical, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and A Story About My Uncle get ported, but they're probably too niche.

One of my favorites this year, Monochroma, also opted for a mostly monochromatic aesthetic, and I think there's room for more in the same style as long as it fits with the overall theme of the game.
EDIT: Got ninja'd by Liam. ;)
