GOG revives the original Resident Evil, plus Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 on the way

Quoting: CyborgZetaGood news for me. With the exception of the GameCube remake of RE1, I am not a fan of the Resident Evil remakes. The classic RE games with tanks controls will always be my favorites; especially RE2.
Nostalgia Trip Time:
I didn't get into Resident Evil (RE) back then because even though I've seen it in video game magazines, I never understood the appeal until hearing Will Smith on Access Hollywood (US entertainment TV show) talking about playing RE1 when PS1 was brand new. Once I got a PS1, I gave it a try and was blown away but how the game looked and played at the time. The crazy thing was that I didn't have a memory card to save my progress but made it pretty far until those mutants (still hate them to this day) killed my momentum.

As for RE2, I still have fond memories of it on the PS1 since I loved how Capcom was able to make the game work brilliantly when it came to which disk you started out playing first and how the stories converged at the end once you completed it with the second disk.

Unfortunately, I only completed RE3 once on PS1 and didn't remember much about the settings and everything about what Jill was doing in the story. One day, I may revisit this one again once I have the time to jump back into it.

The good old days of Resident Evil and those dreaded tank controls

I used to love these versions of the game but after playing the remakes, it's hard to go back. Also, I do wonder if this means GOG will get any of the remake versions of Resident Evil in the future because I'm sure a lot of fans would want those as well.

EDIT: I hope they keep those campy dialogues from Resident Evil 1 because those were funny and iconic to listen to.

I do like Fanatical for their bundles but their game discounts isn't their strong suit compare to other digital stores. At least they offer those 5% coupons every time you buy something from them and I tend to use those from time to time.

RISC-V Framework Laptop mainboard teased, plus open source releases of laptop shells

Quoting: ToddLI'm glad that RISC-V continues to make in-roads when it comes to CPU architectures and interested to see where it goes in the future since it's nice to have CPU alternatives besides ARM and x86-64.
What would be nice is if there were an affordable PPC as well...
The only affordable PPC is used Macs from way back but it seems like it doesn't get a lot of love from the industry because it's being relegated to servers and not desktop.

So if a developer can hook enough people in (or bots…) it's probably a reasonable amount going into their pocket.
This video about Banana by the excellent Jauwn [External Link] (who usually covers scammy cryptocurrency/NFT "games") has a good run-down on this. I highly recommend checking it out if you have a spare 17 minutes and 18 seconds.

Quoting: GuestIt's quite embarrassing seeing this type of crap climbing top 10, as well as the explosion in market items.
It makes me sad to see that actual games with actual effort put into them, that I've personally thoroughly enjoyed, are not doing numbers anywhere near this stuff and might not see any follow-ups as a result. What times we live in, when this is what gets rewarded...
Thanks for posting the link to the video and after watching it, I can sense Valve will eventually step in and intervene because this is terrible and a waste of time to majority of gamers that would rather play real games. Banana would be the last thing I'd call as a "game" and I wouldn't shed a tear once it gets removed from Steam.

It's pretty cool to see games like this getting good sales and hopefully, it becomes a great success once it's out of Early Access.

Steam Next Fest - June 2024 edition is live with lots and lots of demos

I know Steam Next Fest ends tomorrow but whatever you do, don't play the Fera demo on the Steam Deck because the framerate isn't good and you can't adjust the resolution in the main menu or in-game.

Quoting: NarcotixI played it on the Nintendo Switch (not finished yet, but not far from it). It's a pretty good Metroidvania in my opinion. The looks and feels kinda reminded me of Metroid Dread. I'd say it's not as great and complex as Hollow Knight, but pretty much on the same level as the Ori series (at least regarding the level-design/-structure and gameplay-wise). Hope that helps :D

Also: the last PoP I happened to like was Sands of Time on the GameCube - failed to have fun with pretty much every entry in the series since then, except for this one.
Seeing that it's 40% off on Switch currently, I'm curious, how's the performance? Any reason I should avoid this version over other platforms?
I tried this game on a relatives Switch and it actually ran pretty good for the most part and there some areas (can't remember which one) that had some slowdown but nothing that would stop you from completing the game. However, since I'm not a fan of Nintendo, I'd rather give that money to Steam because at least I know I can play this game on the Steam Deck or PC.

As for Denuvo, I don't care about it as long as the game plays fine and I've played some titles with it on the Steam Deck without issues.

Quoting: pilkThat is a laundry list of entry methods. Didn't think it let you go that overboard with it.
This is typical Gleam stuff whenever a contest is created and you have to jump a bunch of hoops in hopes to get enough entries to win the prize. It's not worth the hassle to do it unless you're feeling lucky today.
