As long as your Switch games aren't from Nintendo or exclusive to the console, a majority of the releases that the Switch gets also show up on Steam with discounts. My approach is that if the Nintendo Direct shows any games of my interest, I check to see if they appears on Steam and if so, I'd rather go buy it from there once they become available so that I know I can play them on the Steam Deck or PC. This is one of many reasons that I don't support Nintendo anymore and I'm glad to be a Steam Deck owner.

From looking at the breakdown of Linux distros, the only thing I can't figure out is why did SteamOS lose 4.17% in popularity.

Try using Proton Experimental to see if it runs with the launch option WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ddraw=n,b" %command% because that's what I was using prior to testing out GE-Proton 9-9.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but no changes from GE gets backported into Proton since they contain video codecs and other libraries that cannot be distributed unless a license is paid to allow it. This is why Valve doesn't include certain video codecs with Proton (which is those colored bars that appear during cinematic scene) and has to use workarounds to make it play nice.

I just tried it on the Steam Deck and for some reason, it won't launch unless I use WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ddraw=n,b" %command% but this causes the FMV not to play. However, despite not seeing the FMV, you can still play the game fine and I don't know if I missed something when using this version of GE-Proton.

Totally agree on the sleep and resume function for longer rpgs. I just can't fathom how people can play incredibly complex CRPGS like BG3 with cluttered interfaces on such a tiny screen with a controller. I spent a lot of time in bg3 in the "open all inventories" screen with every characters inventory open, and swapping items around. How would that even be possible on a handheld? There's so many other questions like that.

It takes lots of skills to get used to crammed interfaces on tiny screens :grin:

Interesting that Steam is coming out with this feature when Decky Loader has a screen recording plugin for sometime now. Not sure how much better that plugin is versus the one that Steam is implementing.

Now, if Steam's screen recording implementation can do something like the PS5, where it'll record a video of an achievement that you earned in the game, then it'll be a nice touch to what they have right now.
