Unless it's already possible and I missed it, here's a SteamOS feature I'd love: staying on the previous major stable release until the new stable release actually becomes stable. An additional 'luddite' branch on a 6 month delay would be perfect.

There has not been a single major stable update in quite a while that HASN'T caused at least some issues for me.

I find these games more difficult to play with the new, reworked controls as Tomb Raider was very deliberately built around its (also deliberate) tank controls, down to the distance of the hops, calculating the running jumps and such.

Even though I dislike some timed sections with the TR tank controls I think it really is a skill issue.

I've seen people describe Kind Words as sweet, but to me it was gut-wrenching and just overwhelming most of the time. An idea that seems perfectly fine on paper, but doesn't survive contact with reality.

The number of dreadful, horrible, traumatising things and experiences you're reading in that game completely eclipsed the - I think intended to be the primary if not sole takeaway - feeling of "aww, that's a nice note".

Pierre is conflating 'more Halo' with 'more Halo (corporate) drama'. Entirely unsurprising.

That said, if 343's (bite me) track record is anything to go by, a move to a new engine can only lead to chaos in the short run, and likely just more chaos in the long run.

I'm not even a Halo fan, but this is getting grotesque.

Something's wrong. People who didn't own everything got everything, but that's it. You get a Relic account login prompt, but it does nothing and is not reflected anywhere, seemingly. The game that installs when you install base DoW1 is still the GotY, there's also no extras, and when I tried installing Winter Assault manually I got an error.

Someone screwed up, looks like. Don't do releases on Friday, people.

I like the idea of additional gameplay in theory, but that DC beginning is completely botched. Inert, mostly superfluous, just doesn't fit.

That'd be my condition: it needs to make the game better, instead of just more and usually worse...

I'm happy if it's just the original, but upscaled (well).
