BTW, I never saw anything about Shadow Warrior until now. I'm definitely breathing heavily after watching the above video.

I almost read "shout" as "shut" and had to reread it. Just a friendly tip that words close in spelling can read as the opposite. I've had that happen with reading a few articles here.

The Palit GeForce GTX970 Jetstream 4GB Is A Monster

It's good to know the coil whine is coming from the PSU being stressed. I plan on a new PSU anyway. I put too much faith into someone knowing their hardware brands and ended up finding out the PSU I got in the hastened case swap with them was an unreliable brand.

C4 Engine Drops Linux Support, Developer Says Linux Is Inferior

I can install Ubuntu on a Nexus 4. I had no idea that would qualify me as a programmer experienced with Linux and ARM. The expert had spoken! I am programmer now!

Valve's Newest Controller Design Looks Solid
8 Jan 2015 at 10:33 am UTC

This version looks like it took a page from the Dualshock 4 for the handle design. Yes, DS4 is surprisingly comfortable and probably the best controller I've ever held in that regard.

I don't know what really there is to conclude about the rest of the controller. There's a lot more to factor in with brainstorming such a controller, because the touch pads could add drawbacks and who knows if Valve was able to resolve all of them. This might explain the latest design.

I'm crossing my fingers that they made it impossible to accidentally drift your thumbs on those pads.

I also wonder about D-pad emulation, if the touch pad has a very familiar feel for an emulated D-pad at the center of it.

New Desura Client Available For Linux, Open Source Again

If the checksum is the same then either it's not the new client or it's simply a download installer. The chance that two different pieces of software have the same checksum is akin to the chance that someone has the same fingerprints as you do: an astronomically low chance.

The flattr and RSS buttons are a little too high in portrait view with Chrome 39 for Android. They overlap between a quarter and a third of the share button. They are perfect in landscape mode, however, since then they don't wrap.

How Steam Computes Linux Sales
10 Dec 2014 at 4:25 pm UTC Likes: 1

I wonder what my 2033 Redux and Last Light Redux purchases count as. I haven't downloaded them for Windows at all and they were purchased through the Steam Android app.

Anyway, this is very unfortunate because I have bought a number of games in part because of Linux support and before all the talk about what counts as a Linux sale, I played a number of them on Windows. Maybe even a few were purchased on Windows.

They really need real-time polling for which operating system people play a game on, not this set in stone crap. This is hurting the appeal of Linux, especially when people build up their Linux game library before fully switching to Linux, ever really using Linux or if they still dual boot. Developers and publishers need to see where players are going, not just where they were.

Valve Plans A Big Steam Machine Presence At GDC 2015

I'm not very excited about a few Steam Machines. Future upgrade options aren't so clear, especially with the fragility of their warranties. I do expect a few to be above and beyond this consolification. ASUS ROG G20 won't be one of them until they change their warranty policy, if they ever do. Yay "warranty void if torn our removed" stickers! :(
