Quoting: subSorry. Oil painting art style?

If they think 2003 3d graphics resembles an "oil painting"... well. :D
The way it's styled, I certainly understand how they can say it's inspired by classic naval oil paintings. There's a lot of finer touches they've put into it to make it seem that way.

As for "2003 3d", I think that's a really weird thing to say, the game overall looks fantastic.
Tbh, I just the saw the frame just yet. :)
So yeah, I see what the mean.
I thought they were referring to some shader magic that makes it look like oil painted.

Cathedral looks like a pretty good retro action adventure, coming to Linux in October

Thank you all.
I'll have a look. :)

My all time favourite classic platformers are the Mega Man series
and Castlevania I + III on NES.

Quoting: robvvOoh! Looks like just my cup of tea, with the platforming and old-school feel :-)
Did you try "Alwa's Awakening"?

Wants to accomplish the very same, but does it way better imho.
(Judging from the video above, ofc.)

We are also patching Ion Fury ASAP to remove all unacceptable language.
I've played through the EA release, though I haven't yet fired up the completed game. Makes me wonder what the above statement refers to as I wasn't aware of any particularly insensitive language within the game?
Problem is, if you take that route the devs now seem to have taken, someone will always be offended of something. It could be anything. No matter how small of a thing it would seem to me and you.

There are also those pretty much pretending to be offended on this and that and ruin the atmosphere where ever it takes place ...
If I got it right, the current review bombing is from people that do not accept that VoidPoint appologized and donated money to The Trevor project and not (at least not many) that felt offended by the content. (?)

I had even more fun with Ion Fury than I had with Duke Nukem more than 20 years ago. #TrueStory

The AI, despite maybe arguing that this is part of the retro experience, could have been a tiny bit more clever.
Enemies not dodging at all and not opening doors is ... well.
Why not providing at least an optional AI profile?

I hope sales do not suffer from the review bombing on Steam.
Guess it won't. Maybe it even helps.
Do we have some sales stats over time?

Quoting: JiskinHi Liam,

I think it's worth mentioning Codeweavers is currently looking for a permanent contractor to work on Proton!
"Proton", or wine? Normally Codeweavers work on wine, as far as I know. Of course Valve are helping to fund that work these days. I just like to be specific, because wine gets used a bit more widely outside of Steam. Of course, if they really are dedicating work to "Proton", then it's probably stability for the specific patch sets to wine that make up "Proton", rather than new features or anything.
(Just curious.)
Yes you're right asking! The offer is : General Wine Developer [Valve Steam Play/Proton]!
Now that is interesting - sounds like it's wine work, but dedicated to resolving steam play problems.
To be clear - I don't mind this; indeed this is what I think funding open source work should be like. Much as I don't like gaming reliance on a proprietary platform (steam), I do like how Valve work to improve open source projects that help themselves. If only more companies worked that way.
I wouldn't be surprised if we will see Google also supporting
more gaming-related open-source projects in the future.

Drivers
Profiling
...

Maybe they already do? Don't know. Anybody?

Wow, that one looks amazing, indeed.

Thanks for still featuring non-commercial games.
I remember times when Linux gaming site almost entirely consisted of them.
