When we're at adventure games:
It seems Deponia will be available for Linux on Steam soon.
At least the first part appeared in my library but doesn't download any content yet.
I know that "Deponia: The Complete Journey" is available on Linux for some time,
but the separate parts weren't.
PS. Schoener Artikel!

Train Fever Business Simulation Game Now On Linux

Quoting: jsa1983It does. Thank you!Quoting: subI guess it does not feature a single-player campaign? You mean like missions? At the moment, no.
Basically, at the moment it is a free play game which can start in 1850, 1900 or 1950 (if I recall correctly), with no AI competitors, but with financial/economic constraints (i.e., no sandbox game with "loadsa" money). A nice feature is that the maps are randomly generated (you can input the random seed so you can replay a map). I hope this answers your question.

Quoting: jdubI agree with some of the comments here, these games look awful and I wouldn't spend money on them on any platformI disagree. *Me* likes the style of "Revenge of the Titans".

Their games are made with Java IIRC, right?
In that case, the $12k are gained with (almost) no extra effort at least.

Steam Hardware Survey For August 2014, Linux Slips

I'm not saying the survey is not flawed. It might be (doubt it though).
However, from your numbers/experience there's no way you can conclude it's flawed.
If you're open to it, get your hands on a book/course that covers basic Statistics.
That one might be a good start Introduction to Statistics: Probability (Berkeley) [External Link]

Quoting: lucifertdarkThe most annoying thing about this survey is I've been using Steam on Linux since the day they released the first Beta & I still haven't had a single chance to do the survey on Linux, in that time I've had it show 3 times in Windows, the results are going to be way off because of that. How do you come to that conclusion?

Steam Hardware Survey For August 2014, Linux Slips

It's perfectly fine and understandable that Valve does not survey the full user base. I guess it has been said many times already but: taking samples is absolutely valid as long as the probability to get surveyed is equal among all users, i.e. there is no systematic bias towards a platform. Yes, increasing the sample size reduces the uncertainty, but I assume Valve makes a reasonable choice concerning the sample size.

Let's face it we know they don't survey 100% of their user base, only a small fraction of it, so bear that in mind as well. Not sure if you're implying that this is a potential reason for the low Linux user number.

The fact that we see so many multi-player only and sandbox games recently should not be interpreted as a lack of demand for well-made single-player campaigns. It's just that SP campaigns are costly and require a totally different set of skills and my impression is that most indie studios wouldn't admit this.
So kudos to Uber Entertainment for being honest about that:

Quoting: GuestI like RTS games and would be interested, but the first review on Steam has these lines:I couldn't agree more. Especially the fact that there is no single-player campaign is a downer (not news though). While I realize that lots of gamers are fine with multi-player only games - I'm not. :/
- no "story" campaign
- you have to be online to play
So, not for me.

Any news about this one?
"Seems" like the press release above is not listed anymore:
Press releases between Feb. and April. 2014. [External Link]
Me idiot bought the game back then to support the devs/publisher. Yeah, my bad. :D
However, how about a new category for developers/publishers that promised a Linux release but did not deliver?
