Wow, these guys are really busy :)
However, I will buy this only if it is below 20e, since I don't think it is my kind of game -- I have to keep my wallet ready for DE:MD :)

I don't think that it'll use Vulkan -- feral main source of income is OSX, so it is obvious that they will put an effort to learn how to write performant apps using Metal, however, Linux userbase is too small, so I don't they will make an effort to learn Vulkan when openGL (at least for them) will make the trick. The only option is if there exists translation layer Metal->Vulkan (the other way around than MoltenVK).
Or maybe I am wrong ;-)

Personally I liked the basic XCOM, and so XCOM:EW was more like a second full game for me -- I find it as a reasonable compromise between development time and user expectations. I had three playthroughs on basic XCOM and then several attempts with EW and LW :) Loved everyone of them. Now, I think that the new XCOM2 DLCs really dont add anything what mods did not add already, so they are more optional and dont really justify the price and time it took to deliver. Modded XCOM2 is as good (or even better) as DLCled one.

It is very weak DLC, nowhere near to the Enemy Within -- the rulers can be a problem at the first encounter but afterwards it goes like:

Quoting: lejimsterTryQuoting: Raven67854Seems odd to go through all of this work rather than use Unreal Engine 4's native Linux version. But hey! Could be cool for other projects like MonoGame.Maybe it's just the open source drivers, but the Linux version of UE4 needs some more love and attention. I was just trying out the latest UT Alpha and it's stuttery as hell.

Quoting: edddeduckferalThanks for the super fast reply. However I needed to purge the "~/.local/share/feral-interactive/XCOM2/VFS/Local/my games/XCOM2/XComGame/Config" directory and reinstall all the mods. Now it works OK.Quoting: nocriThe DLC work ok for me except I have VERY HEAVY FPS loss on the World map -- on tactical missions I have 50-60 FPS and the same on the ship, however on the World map I have like 6-7 ... I tried to disable all the mods, but there is smth wrong with the Launcher, and whenever I launch it and look at the mods, all the mods are still enabled. Is there any bugzilla or github for reporting the problems ?The performance drop is due to some mods having issues and causing the game to run badly. These mods effect Windows/Mac & Linux in the same way. Some mods don't uninstall correctly (again on all platforms) which can compound the issues if you use these buggy mods.
Specs:
CPU: i5-6300HQ
GPU: nVidia 960M, with blob 364.19
Kernel: 4.4
There is a thread here started by Windows users that helps explain the issues and has some steps you can take to fix it by uninstalling the mods.

If you have issues disabling mods in the Launcher for some reason then you can quit the game and use the Steam client to go to the Workshop items you have installed and unsubscribe. The url to this page will look something like this.

If after all this you think you have a Linux specific issue then use the pre game launcher to contact our support and we can investigate.
