It's good that discussions were made and they seem to be in good terms, but this resolution kind of sounds like they'll just carry on and keep the status quo.

Fedora can do what they please, it's their platform, but I already went ahead and removed the Fedora Flatpaks from my computers. Glad that I can at least do that and preemptively rid myself of any potential unncessary headaches in the future.

Just finished getting rid of the fedora flatpak repos from my PCs. I could give my take on this silly situation but I'd rather do anything else with my time, it's that worthless. Here's the how-to if anyone wants to do the same and stay away from poorly managed repo's:

I do wish I could more easily get newer Plasma releases though...

I want to switch to Arch from Kubuntu for the same reason. But I would want to set up a reliable and easy to use snapshot, system to roll back issues whenever one crops up, with the figuring out what actually went wrong being highly optional for me since I don't often have the resources ((money), time, or mental resources (stimulation, drive, interest, focus, patience)) to deal with it.

Fedora KDE exists you know... :wink:

Plasma 6.3 landed in Fedora not even 24 hours after the official release from KDE. And it's a bliss with no issues on the two PCs I use. And that has been the case since I moved to Linux with Fedora KDE in March last year - almost a full year now of excellent and lightning-fast update delivery with no issues.

This is the first game published by Sony that I can see and buy from Steam in my region since the Helldivers crap last year. Timely, as this is the only recent game of theirs I'm willing to give them money for :smile:.

I was hoping ShiftUp would be self publishing, or get anyone else but Sony for the PC release (like how Death Stranding is published by 505 on PC), so the game would have regional pricing, since that's not something Sony does, all their games are selling for incredibly unreasonable pricing here and they're losing money not offering them as per Steam's regional pricing guidelines.

I think this speaks more about how these Eastern game companies and specifically NetEase operates. They want their games to work on as many phones (or in thus case, PCs) as possible. It's a smart strategy to increase the chances of paying users and whales, and it's unlike what similar devs think, especially in the west.

There's also a general culture in these Eastern F2P games to always appeal to the community and make them happy, because that's your audience and client base that's keeping you afloat. That's why you wouldn't usually see game enshittification happen in these ludicrous Asian games.

Exactly. Blocking a whole platform from playing, and adding new security measures (which I'd bet is what's doing the heavy lifting here), and after all of that, only a -33% decrease in an already established downward trend, AND it went up again not long after? Not impressed at all.

They tried their best to make this sound like a victory, and that Linux is to blame, but even through their bullshit talk one can clearly deduce Linux doesn't actually have this supposed cheating problem all these incomptent devs are using as scapegoat when they run out of ideas.
