Happy Birthday KDE! I donated 150€ yesterday because these guys are awesome and deserve all our support. I likewise cannot imagine Linux without KDE, everything else feels clunky. And we've seen what happens when projects are too dependent on a single sponsor such as the Red Hat/Fedora situation and Fedora getting pressured to adopt AI now. In such times it's important to support independent projects to keep them alive forever so they can keep making great stuff:wub::wub::wub:

I was hoping this would fix the issue of being unable to install dotnet40+ into a Proton Prefix… but it still errors out with a fresh prefix and Proton GE 10.18. Right now there's a workaround that involves removing symlinking from files inside the prefix with vanilla Proton (with GE complains that dotnet is already installed), but it's complicated to do and it massively increases disk space https://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=38124 [External Link]

Why on earth do these sites keep the ID scans?? Validate the user, save the date date and a 'yes valid' checkmark. Then delete the damn id.

that's what discord claimed it is doing, but this incident has exposed it as one fat lie.

the upgrade to Kubuntu 25.10 broke half my system, how disappointing. Flatpaks uninstallable, NVenc gone, Kubuntu driver manager can't be opened any more, countless errors regarding Nvidia driver… Thankfully Timeshift was here to save me. I'll hold off with upgrading until the major issues are fixed first

Microsoft has set these up to be a guaranteed failure.

confusing branding: check.
lower tier is greedy upsell: check.
most expensive 'XboX' in history: check.
meager specs: check.

Not only this but the reception of these things from preview event was rather mixed. Lackluster performance and bugginess of the UI was criticized. Along with the fact that 16gb shared RAM and 512gb on the low-end model is not nearly enough for modern games. The Steam Deck might just get by with 16, but Windows itself is so bloated these days, it already eats 8 when doing nothing. They're effectively trying to sell you a Windows Steam Deck here for 600 bucks. How is that thing supposed to drive a 1080p display? Again we see a pattern here, no lessons from Valve were learned, neither in price, specs, or marketing. What a waste of sand.

Unfortunately no, the MS Store version runs on proprietary junk called UWP that doesn't work on anything but Windows and Xbox consoles
