I'm curious about that too. I've not been able to find an answer yet.

The "video game preservation service" Myrient is shutting down in March

GOG might be in trouble in the future if people keep balking at donating to help out. I'm not optimistic about preservation anymore. I think the corporations will win, sadly. Just like with everything else now, the consumer is losing. People in general will almost always take and rarely contribute when given the option, even when the economy has been good in the past; it's just that now people can point to how bad things are as their reason.

Wish this could happen in real life. Like, right about now in the US would be great.

Quoting: ZlopezLet's hope the bubble around AI will burst soon.
I'd say, before it's too late, but the environmental damage is already being done. Because of this, at least in the US, our dictator-in-chief has thrown us all in on AI, so when it bursts, the economy is going to tank hard. He likely won't even suffer consequences because he'll just blame the democrats or China and his followers will eat it up.

Quoting: GuestI'm left wondering when governments will come for Steam accounts. My account is over 18 years old, so maybe they'll implement the same system Nexus Mods did.
Mine is 21 years old, so it can drink! lol

Quoting: JarmerOMG I love this so much because it will destroy discord. YESSSSSS I ragehate discord so much so anything that takes measures to destroy it is the best thing ever.
Heh, while I don't hate Discord with the same fervor as you, I am certainly not a fan. Perhaps this'll end up encouraging more people to start adopting open platforms for online discussion, over corporate-controlled walled gardens! Though through the cynical eye of historical observation, I think it's more likely that the majority will just grumble about it and acquiesce anyway. Alas!
That's most likely the case. The majority will go along with it and move on. The guy raging is in the minority.

What I'm more worried about is how they are going to ruin discord usability from going public. I'm expecting them to begin shoving ads in anywhere they can into the client and possibly locking features behind a paywall to push people onto Nitro+. I'm expecting BetterDiscord will be C&D'd or blocked in the not-too-distant future. If that happens, then I'm out. It would become unusable for me.

I did the whole rise up and leave the platform in protest thing with Reddit when the blocking third-party apps thing happened and I ended up being one of the very few who actually did it and I regret it all the time.

PlayStation Publishing reveal Horizon Hunters Gathering, Guerrilla's new co-op action game

Is it just me or are there more and more big co-op games coming out? This trend really sucks for the friendless.

Worried about when this Playtron thing inevitably implodes that the open source devs they hired will quit working on projects out of disillusionment.

Apparently the ai companies have all the hardware they need but they are still buying to stock pile all of it. Theres going to be a massive flood of hardware being dumped onto the 2nd hand market when the bubble bursts and the companies are liquidating.
