Development on the new System Shock has been paused

A real pity, while there are many other titles I look forward to, both during the spring of 2018 as well as the rest of the year, this was one of my most highly anticipated.

As mentioned above, I really hate these kind of vague & unspecific statements that mostly creates more questions rather than provides tangible answers. Too often these kind of: "Something has been messed up, but keep your chins up because things will work out eventually...probably...maybe...or not", turns out to actually end with the "Or Not" part.

Can you hear that? It's the Steam sales train and it's arrived, also Steam Wishlist revamp

SOMA, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Transistor are all 75% off, three rather great games.
Observer 33% off.
Dreamfall Chapters 40% off.

Unusual artstyle, the cockpit-view looks a bit like something from "Borderlands". It sounds like the game has an unusual story as well, it could certainly be a fun game I'll be keeping my ears open for impressions.

Turn-based tactics game with RPG elements 'Depth of Extinction' revamps character classes

I'll buy it as soon as it's possible to do so on steam. Unfortunatly, I have too much cash in my "steam-wallet" and in my "GOG-account" as well, to spend extra cash on any developers site.

Still, I really look forward to plying this one.

Lovecraftian horror game 'Conarium' officially released for Linux

Heh, I was a bit quick on the trigger and missed the sale. Still, I can't really feel bad about that since I do want developers who support linux to make a profit and I also want more lovecraftian games. (just became aware that Frogwares, who are known for their Sherlock Holmes adventures, are making "The Sinking City" that looks very promising)

Haven't played the game yet, beyond checking that it launches without any problems. I'm currently rather obsessed with "Tangledeep", damn it's addictive with all the possible class-combinations you can get by switching "jobs" and thereby combining skills from widely different classes.

Bought it. Yeah, you can choose if you want permadeath when you start the game.

Played for a few hours, still undecided what my opinion is. On the one hand, the game seems to have lots of options, many different classes, different skills and plenty of reasonably interesting stuff to do.

On the other hand, I'm less than impressed with the combat this far (which seems to be the main element of the game) it seems way to simplistic to be entertaining, however that may be because I still haven't explored many options for how to use the different skills, spells and stuff to make it more interesting.

I suppose only time will tell, but at this price level I fell it will not take much more entertainment before I feel I have gotten my moneys worth in any case.

EDIT: Having played a couple of hours more, I can now say that the combat *does* get more interesting with time. Playing as a "Floramancer" lets you mess around with many inventive spells and abilities and the enemies start gaining more special abilities as well. Definitly worth my money. :-)

Quoting: wvstolzingThis looks really good. (I can't help but wonder whether someone could do the same for the first Deus Ex....)
That would be absolutly wonderful and I can't help but feel that the general interest & appeal would be even greater than this SS-remake.

Sure, I know modders have done a fantastic job of updating and improving the original Deus Ex but the idea of a truly *modern* version, like this current Nightdive project, makes me positivly giddy with excitement.

Thanks, nice update! I was a bit worried initialy, when they announced that they were going to switch the game-engine, since that's the kind of thing with the potential to screw up certain versions of the game. It's good to hear that things seem to be progressing smoothly.

Feral Interactive are teasing another Linux port, so that's two titles not yet announced

Yeah, "Life Is Strange - Before the Storm" seems quite plausible, I think.

Fairly happy with that port, although there are certainly a rather large number of titles that I would have valued higher, this is still a game I would buy & play without any hesitation whatsoever.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire gets a release date

Awww...so much time left. I had hoped for a february release but now I suppose I´ll have to look for my crpg-fix elsewhere in the nearest future. :(

I guess "Depth of Extinction" might be out a little sooner, possibly "NWN:EE" or "Stoneshard" but I think those are most likely even later.

"Pathfinder Kingmaker", "The Iron Oath"and "Fell Seal: Arbiter´s Mark" are almost certainly late in the year. No idea about "Underworld Ascendant" and "The Bard´s Tale IV". Well, I still haven´t bought "Battlechasers" either, just waiting for some positive words about the linux-beta before I buy.
