Bought it. Yeah, you can choose if you want permadeath when you start the game.
Played for a few hours, still undecided what my opinion is. On the one hand, the game seems to have lots of options, many different classes, different skills and plenty of reasonably interesting stuff to do.
On the other hand, I'm less than impressed with the combat this far (which seems to be the main element of the game) it seems way to simplistic to be entertaining, however that may be because I still haven't explored many options for how to use the different skills, spells and stuff to make it more interesting.
I suppose only time will tell, but at this price level I fell it will not take much more entertainment before I feel I have gotten my moneys worth in any case.
EDIT: Having played a couple of hours more, I can now say that the combat *does* get more interesting with time. Playing as a "Floramancer" lets you mess around with many inventive spells and abilities and the enemies start gaining more special abilities as well. Definitly worth my money. :-)

Sure, I know modders have done a fantastic job of updating and improving the original Deus Ex but the idea of a truly *modern* version, like this current Nightdive project, makes me positivly giddy with excitement.

Quoting: wvstolzingThis looks really good. (I can't help but wonder whether someone could do the same for the first Deus Ex....)That would be absolutly wonderful and I can't help but feel that the general interest & appeal would be even greater than this SS-remake.

Thanks, nice update! I was a bit worried initialy, when they announced that they were going to switch the game-engine, since that's the kind of thing with the potential to screw up certain versions of the game. It's good to hear that things seem to be progressing smoothly.
Feral Interactive are teasing another Linux port, so that's two titles not yet announced

Yeah, "Life Is Strange - Before the Storm" seems quite plausible, I think.
Fairly happy with that port, although there are certainly a rather large number of titles that I would have valued higher, this is still a game I would buy & play without any hesitation whatsoever.

Awww...so much time left. I had hoped for a february release but now I suppose I´ll have to look for my crpg-fix elsewhere in the nearest future. :(
I guess "Depth of Extinction" might be out a little sooner, possibly "NWN:EE" or "Stoneshard" but I think those are most likely even later.
"Pathfinder Kingmaker", "The Iron Oath"and "Fell Seal: Arbiter´s Mark" are almost certainly late in the year. No idea about "Underworld Ascendant" and "The Bard´s Tale IV". Well, I still haven´t bought "Battlechasers" either, just waiting for some positive words about the linux-beta before I buy.

Well, I suppose it´s just to hope for the best then.
Still, I really hate announcements like this since there have been so many examples of the linux version being delayed for an extreme amount of time and in some cases even outright cancelled.
This happens when the developers decide that they first need to release the windows version, then focus on patching for several months, then decide that DLC should come before linux version, then decide that too much time has passed and the game did not sell enough to justify making the linux version...

It's time to bug Feral Interactive about future port requests once again

Well, assuming that games such as "Bethesda" and "Rockstar" titles are certainly not available for porting.
I think my most wanted title would be "Rise of the Tomb Raider", since the first game was great and I hate having a game series interrupted. However, in case that game is already a "port-in-progress", since there were hints of that happening last year, then I think I would choose:
"ELEX"
I love Piranha Bytes games, such as the Gothic and the Risen games and ELEX sound like a game in that style only in a very interesting futuristic/magical setting, also open world and offers lots of playing time which all seems very appealing indeed.

Very nice!
I have honestly been feeling quite disappointed with december/january, I had hoped that this game, or "Ruiner", or "Conarium", or even some pleasant "surprise release" like Tomb Raider/PoE2/System Shock, would have occured by now.
Instead, I haven't bought a single game since "Black Mirror" on the 29:th of november and it's pretty rare that I go this long without finding *anything* to buy.

Like many have said, this is both terribly disappointing as well as worrisome for the future.
I loved the three Shadowrun-titles from Harebrained and felt that this game was a sure thing for both quality and prompt delivery. My six most anticipated titles for 2018 were "Pillars II", "NWN:EE", "System Shock", "Tombraider II", "Pathfinder: Kingmaker" and this game (in no particular order), so I certainly hope there are no other nasty surprises ahead.

CRYENGINE to get improved Linux support

Sounds somewhat positive for the linux port of "Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem" then.
"Linux support is planned, as we promised during our kickstarter campaign, but we can’t give you any ETA. Our small team does not currently have the manpower to maintain two platforms at the same time and we still have to implement core features, fix bugs and improve the game’s stability on the PC version before we can move to Linux. We will try our best to release a working Linux version as soon as we possibly can, but we might have to migrate to CryEngine V first."
