Observer is now available for Linux on GOG, patch available for Mesa users

Really great game, the only thing I wasn´t completly happy with were the "mind hacking" episodes, when the whole experience became a tad too "trippy/psychedelic" for my taste. It felt less like I was exploring parts of someones mind and more like I was experimenting with a mix of highly illegal drugs.

There are *SO* many games there that I wish they´d do the same for, if even for no other reason than improving the statistics of available "linux-titles".

I was just considering buying the "Wing Commander-bundle" (WC 1-5, WC: Privateer, WC: Armada) yesterday, a bunch of games that I know for the most part works great with dosbox but the fact that it was only flagged as windows games, irked me so much that I abstained.

I mean tecnically they are *NOT* windows games anymore, I doubt you could get most of them to function well under win 7,8 or 10 these days. Today they are dosbox games plain and simple, availble for whatever systems that can use the program.

Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition is coming from Beamdog, Linux support confirmed

OMG, OMG, OMG! This sounds almost too good to be true. I really liked the original and played the expansions as well (Hordes of the Underdark was great) not to mention the sequel from Obsidian. Yet I never dared to hope I'd see a new updated version, I was sure Beamdog would never move beyond the isometric "infinity-engine" games.

I'll pre-order this for certain.

Classic Roguelike 'ADOM' is getting a revamp named Ultimate ADOM

Interesting! I bought the game at a sale but I didn't play for very long, for one thing I had other titles that beckoned and then there was the fact that there seemed to be a ton of keyboard-shortcuts to learn and I really missed full mouse-support.

Hopefully, this remake will be a bit more "user-friendly".

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire shows off a new trailer with early gameplay

I'm really damn eager to play this! The first game was really good but sadly I never really connected so much with the characters, nor did I really get sucked into the main story with the "stillborn babies". In fact, I enjoyed the new characters and main quest in the two "Whitemarsch expansions" more than the main game.

However, I greatly enjoyed the PoE-gameplay itself, the character classes as well as the expansive world and many unique locations. So, hopefully with this sequel it will be unconditional love on my part. (fingers crossed)

Hardcore retro-futuristic adventure game Far-Out looks awesome, coming to Linux

I´ve had it on my wishlist for a while. Hopefully, either this game or "The Last Night" will become an early hit in 2018 (or both if we´re really lucky).

What are you playing this weekend?

I´ll probably be starting either "Observer" or "Layers of Fear" tomorrow, since I finally milked the last achievments from the "Everspace DLC".

SteamOS is still alive with a new Beta, although it's a rather uninteresting one

And to think that for a short time I was naive enough to believe that Valve would support their "SteamOS & the Steammachines" in a similar way that Microsoft supports their Xboxes or Sony their Playstations with corresponding OS:s.

Not with exclusive titles nor to the same extent in any other way but still...a strong and commited effort by Valve to challenge Windows as "The PC-Gaming OS of Choice". To say that my expectations fell short would be a truly absurd understatement.

Mantis Burn Racing needs more support if it is to come to Linux

A bit of a let down. In particular since 10 pages of requests are actually more than I expected and I initially believed that they simply wanted something like 3-5 pages, just to show that: "Yes, there is genuine interest!".

After all, we are not talking "GTA V" here and there´s bound to be quite a number of people who are not making their voice heard but might still buy it once it´s released on linux.

I don´t know if I´m being unfair here but I can´t help feeling a bit like "being played for a sucker" with the wishy-washy promise of a port based on arbitrary and unspecific factors that might change from day-to-day decisions.

Lovecraftian horror 'Conarium' powered by Unreal Engine is still coming to Linux, could be soon

Looks really nice! This is a great time for Lovecraft, with this game on the way and the upcoming "Call of Cthulhu: The Official Videogame" in early 2018, as well as the promising looking "Moons of Madness".
