The Fallout-inspired 'ATOM RPG' will launch on into Early Access next month with Linux support (updated)

Well, this certainly looks very nice and any game that can at least at some level be likened to: "Fallout, Wasteland, System Shock, Deus Ex, Baldur's Gate" will always be a bullseye where my gaming interest is concerned.

So, I'll probably buy it as soon as I can.

Remastered adventure game 'Noctropolis' is now available for Linux

I vaguely remember buying/playing this somewhere around 95-96. Can't really remember much detail though, so I'll probably pick it up.

EVERSPACE expansion released, will work on Linux soon and it's coming to GOG

Works for linux now. (on STEAM, don´t know about GOG) I´ve started playing it a little, the new ship seems pretty neat and I am really looking forward to checking out the new storylines.

Space shooter 'ASTROKILL' updated with official Linux support

It does sound interesting, just wish they could change the name of the game. "Astrokill" sounds like some kind of ridiculous parody (Spaceballs 2: Where No Balls Have Gone Before!!!), which actually makes me a bit hesitant about giving it a chanse.

The next three major Steam sale dates have been leaked

In my case, steam sales doesn´t mean much to me anymore. When I used windows, I used to wait for the sales and then splurge on tons of new games but since switching to linux the pickings have naturally gotten much slimmer.

So, it´s almost gotten to the point where I try to *avoid* the sales, in order to make sure that the linux-porter or linux-supporting developer get the most money from the linux sales. (not that I really think I´m making any significant difference)

Crazy cyberpunk horror game 'observer' is coming to Linux on October 24th

Super! With "Riskers" just released and "Observer" in a few days and then (hopefully) "Battlechasers" and "Ruiner" soon thereafter, this is shaping up to be a great month.

Still, "Observer" is probably the linux-title that I have the highest hope this autumn, until "Rise of TR" shows up.

Dying Light's free 'Content Drop #1' update is here with new weapons
16 Oct 2017 at 10:29 am UTC

1GB download for a bunch of free weapons, in a game that already has a gazillion of weapons...

Hmm, I love "Dying Light" but I certainly hope that the rest of these downloads has something more worthwhile, like new story content or some kind of random mission generator or something similar to really sink your teeth into.

Turn-based tactical RPG 'Vigilantes' released in Early Access with Linux support
12 Oct 2017 at 7:14 pm UTC

Bought it but I still haven´t done more than give it a quick "trial-run", to check out character creation and the basics of combat. I´ll probably hold off on playing until the game at least starts to approach a full release but like you say anything that seem like a bit of "Jagged Alliance mixed with some XCOM" is worth being optimistic about.

What have you been playing and what do you think?

Currently I´ve started playing the two expansions for Tyranny, that is called: "Tales from the Tiers" and "Bastard´s Wound". I´m also playing Broken Sword - Director´s Cut and doing occasional runs on Everspace (really eager for the expansion).

RUINER for Linux is now officially on hold (UPDATED)

Poorly handled, very poorly.

Still, I feel at least a tiny bit of optimism remains, for the following reasons:

1. It sounds as if there actually is a linux work-in-progress going on, that´s far better than a lot of developers that promise "linux a bit later" and then the port in question is never heard from again.

2. They are at the very least communicating with the linux community. I´m starting to feel that the standard procedure among developers is more like: "make promise->change mind about promise->stop communicating".

Of course, the fact that they used the phrasing "we´ll think about it later", does sound a bit ominous.
