Depth of Extinction, a turn-based tactics roguelike with RPG elements set underwater, it's good

Cool! I have it on my steam-wishlist and I´ll buy as soon as it´s available for purchase. February is starting to look like a fun month this year.

Voting is now open for our Linux GOTY Awards

Voted. Except for "Best Update", where my favorite was "Beamdogs 2.5 beta update" for their Enhanced Editions of Baldur´s Gate, Planescape and Icewind. Adding achievments, new classes, auto-looting and much more.

The Linux port of EVERSPACE is still being worked on

It feels a little curious that it's not seen as ready for official release yet. Considering that I spent around 120hrs playing through the main game as well as the expansion and never had any real issue with the game, not even a single crash.

GOG have a little sale on again, time to get some cheap games

Quoting: Guestjust picked up divinity
I still haven´t gotten around to playing that game. I really wanted to wait for "Divinity II" to be confirmed for linux porting, before I started playing the original.

It´s supposed to be really good though.

A Linux version of open-world RPG 'Seven: The Days Long Gone' is a realistic option

It would certainly be very nice!

However, I think they sound *extremly* non-committal at this point in time, in particular given the overwhelming show of support for a linux version that was given in the steam-forum. So I´ll take the casual "let´s-just-see-what-happens, with-zero-expectations" approach for now.

ScummVM 2.0 released adding support for more classic games

Cool! I just bought "Phantasmagoria" on GOGs winter sale (it´s still on sale), I have wanted to replay that game again for some time, since ironically while it´s one of the latter Sierra adventure titles it´s probably the one I remember the least.

Slaps and Beans now in Early Access

I remember loving their movies back when I was a kid, sadly though it´s been a looong time since I last saw one of them. I think they haven´t shown any on my available tv-channels for at least a decade or maybe two, haven´t seen any on DVD for rental in that time either, or on Netflix in the last few years.

Will absolutely buy, but I think I´ll wait for a little bit of a sale, euro 19.99 is a tad on the expensive side for a side-scrolling "beat´em up" (not really a genré I find that enjoyable)

A lot later than expected, but the open-world pirate RPG 'Tempest' is now in Beta for Linux

I had really given up on title actually, seems that for once the whole "better late than never", might be coming true. I used to love "Pirates!" back in the day and I adored the improved "Pirates! Gold" as well, the pirate-themed "Risen 2 Dark Waters" was another title I also became very fond of.

So, I´ll pick this one up as well. Although, I´ll wait until it´s more or less officially released on linux.

Post-apocalyptic 'ATOM RPG' released into Early Access
28 Nov 2017 at 8:53 pm UTC

I've played for around 20 minutes and as said, the game seems to work fine. It does seem a tad lacking in environmental detail still but that's certainly to be expected from an early-access title, I'll give it some more time tomorrow but my initial impression is that it feels/plays rather similar to "Wasteland 2".

Oh, I also bought "Black Mirror" that was released today and that game *does* feel polished & finished. A beautiful and interesting adventure title, tomorrow will be busy ;-) .

Black Mesa has delayed the 'Xen' levels again, big update due in December

Sounds like a really nice & enjoyable update and as for the delay, as long as they are working on it and getting it right, everything is fine by me.

Kudos for the apology, if only everyone who promises linux-ports and never deliver did the same thing, I would be much more forgiving. (and less cranky)
