Darkest Dungeon officially released for Linux & SteamOS

Love the game! It's frustrating as well as incredibly atmospheric.

To be honest, after having played the beta for 49 hours now, I'm not sure if I'll be able to endure it to the end credits. It's just that tough to spend several hours building up a "dream team" of adventurers, train them to the max, equip them with the best gear my hard earned gold can buy...only to have them all obliterated when the dungeon boss pulls an ace out of the sleeve.

Still, an amazingly addictive game and the only bug I have come across is that the "mini-map" you use for navigating the dungeon will sometimes fail to show up when I start a new dungeon. Easily fixed though, just pop back out to the main menu and then back again and the map will almost always appear (otherwise try again).

Consortium: The Tower looks incredible, promising day-1 support and needs funding (updated)

I played through the original game and was quite impressed by it. It felt a little bit "low budget" but at the same time it was really fascinating and interesting.

Lol, after playing through it, I described the plotline as : "-The main character you play, is an alien consciousness transferred through a digital rift, into an unknown individuals body that serves as a crewmember in a futuristic flying-ship, in an alternate dimension. After that...you're on your own."

If the sequel comes to Linux, then it's a must buy for me.

Kona, a good looking first person adventure game now in Early Access, some thoughts

I bought this on sale last week, it looked fairly interesting; like a more gameplay-oriented version of "Firewatch", so I thought it was worth a chance. However, like you say an adventure game with lots of story in it, is not really the ideal thing to play in early access.

Still, I'm feeling optimistic about this title.

P·O·L·L·E·N, an incredible looking interactive first person sci-fi exploration game could come to Linux

Oh yeah, this looks awesome. Reminds me a lot of both "Alien: Isolation" and "SOMA", if only it has less stressful exploration than the former and longer playing time than the latter, then there's no limit to how good it might get.

Quoting: XpanderDirt Rally is my Fav news :)
My fav for last month was probably the "Darkest Dungeon" announcement (it would have been yesterdays Baldur's Gate notice if it had come a day earlier)

Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear DLC released with day-1 Linux support
2 Apr 2016 at 8:31 am UTC

Quoting: drmothYou have to play all the way through BG:EE to get access to it, right? It's pretty amazing that they've made this, this is true dedication.
No...or at least I'm fairly sure that's not the case. Whenever you start up BG, you get the choice to go to the "original campaign" or to the "SoD-expansion", if you choose SoD you can either import a save-game from the original campaign to SoD or you can create an entire new adventure group to play with.

Cool! This was another one of the titles I bought for windows and never quite got around to playing before "The Switch", and it's great to get the opportunity after all.

Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear DLC released with day-1 Linux support

I've played it for 4 hours now on Xubuntu 15.10 and it seems pretty great so far. No problem with importing saves, no bugs and no crashes for me. This really seems like a worthy successor to the original classic and I'm already having plenty fun with it.

From what I've skimmed through, it's gotten some early positive reviews and I'm feeling quite optimistic at this point. Some release highlights:

- New Class: The Shaman
- New Cleric Kit: The Priest of Tyr (from IWD:EE)
- Class Ability Tweak: Poison Weapon now scales with levels
- Item Tweak: Stupefier +1 has been adjusted to be more in line with the game's other equipment
- Spell Tweak: Enchanted Weapon now modifies the target's existing weapons
- Items can now be placed in the Off-Hand slot while ranged and two-handed weapons are equipped
- Steam Cloud Save support has been added (Steam only)
- Achievements have been added (Steam only)
- The User Interface has been overhauled with a new system
- Dozens of modder-friendly enhancements
- Hundreds of bug fixes

Rog. Can someone confirm? If so, I am buying this game after Liams positive port report.
I'd like a confirmation of that as well. I simply couldn't wait and went ahead and bought it but it still makes me a bit uneasy to buy a game with no kind of linux-logo that also needs to be activated with a "beta branch password". It certainly doesn't feel like any sort of "official" linux purchase.

Two Worlds II to get major engine upgrade, new DLC and SteamOS & Linux support

Nice! I bought both "deluxe" editions of the 2 "Two Worlds" games years ago. However I never really got around to playing either of them (which is kind of weird since crpgs are my favorite genre)

Still, I certainly hope that the first game gets ported as well. I'm kind of pedantic when it comes to playing games "by the numbers" and when it comes to a series I really want to go through the full series in the proper order (unless it stinks of course) :P
