Just started to play "TESLA EFFECT" using Proton. Other than the fact that you had to download "mscorefonts" and then copy "arial.ttf" to the game directory, the game itself appears to run great.
I have everything on MAX settings and haven´t noticed any framedrops or other problems at all. The game has a "Very Positive" rating on steam and based on my previous experience with Tex Murphy P.I. I know I´m in for a real treat. :)
(I was planning to begin with "Pathfinder: Kingmaker" but given all the bugs that have them releasing hotfixes almost every day and the fact that a larger patch is scheduled for the end of next week, I decided to wait a bit)

Nice to see some progress at last. Although, I actually hope it takes a month or two more until the full release. I just have too damn much to play right now and I feel I´m buying 3 new games for every single game I finish. :dizzy::D

There was a small 2.2 mb update on steam. My saved game still crashes on loading, so I guess no fix for that yet.

Lucky, I only played for a few minutes after character creation then.
I also had an issue there when trying to write my characters name, every letter i pressed was doubled on the screen. Otherwise, the game looked great and all the various races/classes/skills/feats were quite interesting to someone like me, who likes to fiddle with lots of detail in character building.
I´ll be moving over to "PoE2: Seeker, Slayer, Survivor" until they get things patched.

Feral Interactive are teasing ANOTHER new Linux port

Does anyone actually *know* that there is one or several existing NDA(s) that prevents Feral from saying which linux ports they are currently working on, forcing them to resort to hints and vague suggestions. Or is this just general speculation, that such NDA(s) might possibly exist, or just as likely might not?
I have no idea to what extent NDAs are used in the gaming buisness, nor in what situations they might be viewed as unnessecary or irrelevamt to the situation in question.

Quoting: F.UltraI must confess to a little bit of confusion here.Quoting: PatolaThen you should criticize the one forcing Feral to sign the NDA and not Feral who have no choice what so ever in the matter (other than not signing a NDA and thus not porting the game either).Quoting: jensAs far as I know they announce as soon as they are allowed to. You know what an NDA is?I will tell you what it is not: it is no excuse from criticisms.

I´ll be sure to buy this in time, since it does seem a lot like some classical adventures I love (Gabriel Knight, Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Serrated Scalpel). However, given the current linux issues, it might be fortunate that I decided to wait a bit to pick this one up because of all other interesting releases to purchase between september-november. :)

Really eager for this one, though I can´t quite decide wether to start with "DoE" or "Pathfinder" this month. I guess which ever title releases first, will be the one. Anyway, this will be a day one purchase.
Valve have now pushed out all the recent beta changes in Steam Play's Proton to everyone

For example, I´ve several games that I might buy once I know they work flawlessly with Steam Play: ELEX, Call of Cthulhu, The Sinking City, Vampyr, The Technomancer, Shadow Warrior 2, Grim Dawn, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Just Cause 3, Wolfenstein II...and many others. However, if there´s even the *slightest* chanse that one or more of them will get a native port at some point, I´d naturally abstain from buying until I can buy native.

Quoting: GuestI feel this is starting to become a little bit of an issue. With the lack of knowledge about some potential upcoming linux ports, as well as the secrecy, hints and teasing, you no longer know which games are "safe" to buy with Steam Play in mind and which games might at some point gain a native port.(that you´d obviously want to support instead)Quoting: duyfkenShadow of the Tomb Raider works day 1 of Pre-order early access on Linux with Proton.... Thank you Valve and DXVK! :DNo Feral port, no money. At some point, we need to support those who support us, dude. I love the Tomb Raider reboot games but won't play Shadow without a native port, unless 3 or more years pass and Feral decides not to port it.

It’s very interesting to hear that Ethan Lee is looking into Proton work, hopefully he can jump in at the deep end with Valve like the creator of DXVK has. He certainly has the credentials needed for such a task. That would be super! The XNA-based old school rpg "Under Rail", is still a no go with Proton, so an infusion of XNAtoFNA might be just what the doctor ordered.

Lol, same day as "Pathfinder: Kingmaker" is released. I´m basically at the beginning of the endgame now and I plan to finish "The Beast of Winter" before doing that. I haven´t decided if I should hold off on finishing the main campaign until this arrives though. :S:
