A small update on the status of BATTLETECH for Linux
14 Aug 2018 at 1:36 pm UTC

A bit dissapointing to hear. You´d think these issues that many developers have, would be reported back to the "unity team" and at some point the engine would be patched to adress the majority of problems. Unless, of course, the game engine is just something to blame while the real problems can be found elsewhere.

On that note, I wonder what´s taking "Life Is Strange: BtS" so long. I´d expect that game shouldn´t be much different from the original title, which is already ported.

Rings of Saturn is a hard sci-fi, top-down space simulator coming soon to Linux

It does look really nice, bit hesitant about the gameplay though. Based on the trailer and the above description, it doesn´t sound that exciting to me. I hope I´m wrong of course. ;)

Comedy cosmic horror adventure 'Gibbous - A Cthulhu Adventure' has a new trailer and Steam page
12 Aug 2018 at 5:47 am UTC

I always feel a bit sceptical when it comes to "Comedy Adventures". Not really sure why, since I did love the "Monkey Island" games and most other Lucasarts adventures as well, not to mention the recent "Thimbleweed Park". Maybe it´s because comedy that fails to be funny, is much worse than horror that fails to be scary or a mystery/adventure that fails to be very mysterious/adventurous.

Anyway, I´ll overcome this predjudice by buying this game!

Tactical RPG 'Depth of Extinction' release delayed until next month
6 Aug 2018 at 11:21 am UTC

Nice, actually I´d be even happier with October. September looks like it will be an amazingly busy gaming month and this is a game I´d really like to give my full and undivided attention once it´s released.

Life Is Strange 2 has an official teaser ahead of a full reveal later this month

Quoting: lucifertdarkIntriguing. I would much rather have the game all in one go though, keep the episodic structure internally but release it all at once.
Yes, in that case a delayed release for linux actually works as an advantage (as long as it´s not too delayed), I too find gameplay in episodes with months in between, to be a really crappy way to enjoy a computergame.

Valve's digital card game 'Artifact' to release November 28th with Linux support

Interesting, I still haven´t tried "Slay the Spire", which I believe is also some kind of highly acclaimed card game. If I enjoy that title then I might just be hungry for more come late november.

WORLD OF HORROR brings a retro cosmic horror RPG experience to Linux next year
1 Aug 2018 at 6:08 pm UTC

This certainly sounds very interesting and the retro mid 80:s look of the graphics could be kind of fun, still I need to see more of the gameplay before I decide. If it´s mostly like playing an old text-adventure (turn left, look around, open door etc.etc.), then I might give it a pass.

Nightdive Studios have released Forsaken Remastered with Linux support
31 Jul 2018 at 6:51 pm UTC

Nice, looks like this could be fun so this goes on my wishlist, though I feel just a teensy bit unlucky that out of all the multitude of classic gems that I would love to see remastered, they pick a game that I never played and have barely heard of.

Detective adventure 'Lamplight City' is confirmed to be coming to Linux

Very nice! This reminds me of several old favorites: "Sherlock Holmes & The Case of the Serrated scalpel/ The Case of the Rose Tattoo" as well as a bit of "Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Father".

This goes straight on the wishlist. Will buy asap (as long as the release doesn´t collide with one or several other "top-of-the-wishlist" titles)

Sunless Skies adds the dark region of Eleutheria, full release delayed
29 Jul 2018 at 6:27 pm UTC

I really liked "Sunless Sea", so I bought this game as soon as it became available. I just hope this game isn´t as slow to play as it´s predecessor. While it was extremly atmospheric and a fascinating experience to play, it frequently felt as if most voyages on and below the waves took forever and completing various quests were sometimes terribly time consuming as well.
