Quoting: SpykerDon't hold your breath guys.Android for now is the most important Vulkan platform with the most benefit so worth more experimenting first there. But in the long run not synchronizing vulkan support on other platform is just nonsense so of course Vulkan will soon come to all supported platforms.
Unreal's Vulkan support is only available for Android right now.
I wouldn't be surprised if Unity build it for the Google's platform first.
The open source Mesa driver for Intel graphics finally reaches OpenGL 4

Quoting: NouserHaswell supports OpenGL 4.3 on Windows, yet OpenGL 4.0 is limited to Broadwell and up on Mesa at the moment. I hope they plan to extend the support to older generations in future releases.Somewhere I read that some features of intel HD that are available on Broadwell and above now and on Ivy Bridgy and Haswell but only on Windows, will be available on Haswell and Ivy Bridge on Linux but only with Linux kernel 4.7. So there I am still hoping.
Looks like Shadow of Mordor has bad graphical bugs with Nvidia 364.12

supporting only closed source drivers, is of course better than nothing, but is should never considered a job well done that does not need fix.
This example demonstrate why.

Ashes of the Singularity developer thinks Vulkan will make Linux gaming viable

It seems to me that the "Ashes of the Singularity" will be a perfect case Vulkan vs DX12. If Vulkan proves to be viable competitor in less than a year even though DX12 had a head start, we will have a strong case.
Linux usage on Steam is better than people think

In averages things are actually very good. The problems are
a) linux games are a subset of windows games, so for someone going from windows to linux it seems he has less games
b) linux games are not evenly distributes across the genres. The result is that some people will find out that most of their games do support linux and other will find that most of their games do not support linux even though both categories did not buy any game with linux support in mind, it does happen because of the different genres people love. For some genres all good games support linux and for other too few support linux.

Quoting: PeciskWe don't need 2000 games on Steam playable on Linux - I want to know how much are recommended, I want to read good reviewsI agree but in fact things are even better in this regard! As I have pointed out the _average_ quality of linux games is in fact HIGHER than the average quality of windows games.

I am totally not interested as I already own more games than I can play. If anything mostly I would like to see Need for Speed Underground and Ashes of the Singularity (the second would be very important as a dx12 vs vulkan case)
Other games that personally I am not interested but they are very popular so they would be good for Linux as a gaming platform:
Grand Theft Auto V
Fallout 4
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Arma 3
Rocket League
Call of Duty®: Black Ops III
Grim Dawn
PAYDAY 2
Total War™: ROME II
SMITE
The Witcher® 3: Wild Hunt
Rise of the Tomb Raider™
Orcs Must Die! 2

Talos Principle & Serious Sam 3 getting Vulkan updates, Serious Sam 4 will be on a much improved engine

I have a laptop with i5-4200U and graphics intel HD 4400.
Talos Principle actually does play and also plays with a lot FPS! But... the motion is not smooth and very annoying so it is in fact almost unplayable. There is clearly the potential to play well. Vulkan is very exciting new as it may do the trick and make Talos playable on intel graphics.
