Quoting: zilotI still find it funny that people recommend Ubuntu as a user friendly distribution, while it have so many issues...
It's still the distro to go to for newbies, despite problems, it does require far less manual configuration, which is the main point for people new to Linux.
Odd point, The vast majority of distros are also th same, Infact a lot require non. Put the disk in, install, done .

That's all I did for Antergos on my daughters, Also mageia for me, Even Mandrake was disk in, install, done and that's 15 + years ago

Unless you are including clicking a package to install like say steam as manual config.

Admit, laptops are a different story

Have they fixed the bug on 10xx series cards yet? tried the last two iso's. (Oss driver and pascal not good, Shocker!)

Was going to give Ant a go but due to the mouse bug unable to install. (Yes, I know I could text install. IT'S 2017 not 1991 )

Always used rpm based distro's tbh, never liked *buntu. Having trying Antergos on my daughters(AMD card) it is nice, No hunting for packages neither. Only down side to Mageia is packages available. No fault of the Mageia team, just lack of people. Chicken/egg think I guess.

Their KDE version seems rather stable, A lot of other distros don't seem to do KDE well for some unknown reason thus why I've stuck with Mandrake/Mandriva/Mageia over the years.

A note about the sources of our information and how we really don't rip others off

Quoting: pete910Interesting to see pascal on this
As I've explained on reddit though, having the OpenGL feature set is one thing, having re-clocking (for performance) and other card features are entirely different things.
Kinda what I was getting at, I mean how much testing could be done on Maxwell/Pascal GPU's

There effectively useless on the oss driver for the most part.
