Arma 3 Available For Linux In A Beta
31 Aug 2015 at 8:04 pm UTC

Quoting: SamsaiThe game works on AMD with Catalyst 15.3. 15.7 is still not working on Ubuntu 15.04 so I was not able to test on that. Performance is low-ish at around 30 on medium graphical details and going higher than that will result in the grass turning blue. The game requires GL4.1 minimum so I was not able to run tests on Mesa.
What card?

try 15.5's?

The 15.5's and 7's is where i'd seen big improvements with my 290x

Vulkan Looks Impressive Against OpenGL In A New Intel Demo
30 Aug 2015 at 10:22 am UTC

Makes you wonder if the old hex core AMD chips will start to shine, I know using Mantle with BF4 with a 1090t did just as well as what my new 4790k does.

Must admit, It's all talk of DX12 atm. I thought Vulkan had a chance to be ready before DX12 but guess not.

Update for me on a 290x with 15.7's

wont let me set to high as it stops at the end of fighting the young lad :huh: even though it works fine.

1440p on high i'm averaging 50's Only done a short stint to the first mission/story . seems stable after i knocked the settings down.

Average on the benchmark setting was 31. Not too bad going on some others I suppose

@edddeduck_feral
Any reason why it closes if the settings are to high?
Vid ram maybe?

A few other games suffer from the problem on this engine. Which is odd seen as the benchmarks of theirs work fine :huh:

Anyone else with a AMD GPU have this problem on here?
7870 here. I've been suffering this bug with Relics of Annorath as well.
