Quoting: Purple Library GuyThat video says "Flatpak is the future". Well, I'm willing to believe Flatpak is (the future of proprietary software on Linux). I don't think it would be such a good idea for every damn application and utility, the open source ones, the main Linux software ecosystem, to be using Flatpak instead of normal package management.
While I understand the push for this in response to 'RPM Hell' but the packaging system of GNU/Linux is one of its core strengths. I welcome options, but 'the future' fills me with dread.

Someone please tell me that we can control the sword-arm like we could in the Treyarch game, Die by the Sword? As crude as it was, and as lacklustre as the story was, that game was a piece of art.

Quoting: JSVRamirezI hope they're smart enough not to advertise it as working on the SteamDeck; it's a first class ticket to Nintendo sending a C&D.
While I absolutely agree, Nintendo has shown an intentional disregard for the legality of their actions when it comes to emulators and fan projects (see AM2R) and similar scenarios.
This was more where I was coming from. Emulators are legal here, too, but Nintendo has form on these kinds of things and fan projects, even where they were entirely new games with a respectful nod to a Nintendo project.

Streets Of Rage 4 - Mr. X Nightmare rolls out with a free update for all players
17 Jul 2021 at 7:29 am UTC

Quoting: jarhead_hI owned Streets 1 on the original Genesis when I was a teenager, and to this day I have never beaten it or any of the sequels. Always run out of lives on the elevator up to the last level. I feel wrong playing this when I haven't even beaten the first one.
Just do it. If you need an excuse, then your logic dictates you play through all three games first, but the third one was just silly and doesn't count... so you may as well skip to four.

Quoting: TheSHEEEPYou know what game I'd love to get a "sequel" to?
The Movies.
Oh yes so very this!!!

Feel the need for a little karaoke? Check out UltraStar Play and UltraStar Deluxe

Quoting: MnolegWe use a different UltraStar fork at home: https://github.com/ultrastares/ultrastar-worldparty [External Link]

Instead of usb microphones, I built a cheaper setup with a jack mono to stereo adapter.
We also use World Party. It is pretty good, though. I might check out Plus, mind... I read their git tracker some time ago and it sounded like a nice technological step up.

Quoting: denyasisFrom my plays of Zeus, to me, it almost felt puzzle-like as creating a good layout is the main challenge to be solved.

It's a really cool idea. I hope the devs here keep up the good work.
The puzzle mechanic was massive in Emperor where you needed to balance the feng-sui, as well as meet needs, for housing to evolve. It was rather tedious at times!

Humble Bundle plan to put the much loved sliders back on bundle pages
8 May 2021 at 2:36 pm UTC

Quoting: tomaszgSliders were useful, mostly if the "charity" for a particular bundle was rather bad.
This.

This was exactly why I used sliders. If I had an issue with the charity, I throw the slider down to '0' and give Humble and the developers more...

Looks like Narita Boy from Studio Koba will now not be supported on Linux
31 Mar 2021 at 10:12 am UTC

This might be very naive of me, but aren't there enough of us here willing to do free 'testing' and even support the QA? I can't imagine the additional costs being that high, especially if they're using Unity.

Edit: Hell, ask the backers to test the Linux build? They already paid for it?!
