I just manually replace my DXVK in Proton to the latest version. Still, it's good to see an update is coming our way - things were too quiet for a few weeks now.

I've a Steam Controller, wired Xbox 360 and a DualShock 4. Love them all. I probably like the Steam Controller best, but they're all excellent and depending on the use case I switch between them.

I would argue that this is a good buy for Linux gamers, even just for Overwatch. It's literally a one-click experience with Lutris and the game runs exceptionally well, with no glitches or problems, bar the shader cache. Unless you're a purist and have at least a modest interest in the game - get it. I got the bundle more out of curiosity to check how it runs on Linux - otherwise I'd have bought it for Windows, where I do most of my gaming anyway. No buyers regret. Plus, props to Blizzard to actually solving the ban problem.

I got eaten alive, last time I said this was a Fortnite rip-off. So, here goes nothing - this is a (very) poor man's Fortnite. See - much better. Once again, I'll say it - this game is not even doomed, it's dead on arrival. This is never gaining any traction and even The Culling will seem popular compared to it (the free version, not the awful and also DOA Culling 2).

Quoting: GuestI haven't experienced any FPS boost with the witcher3.What are your specs? From what I understand the boost is for GPU limited situations. Maybe your CPU is maxed out.

Perhaps one needs the latest DXVK to ensure the best possible results. I do tend to replace the Proton DXVK files with the latest version. I'm kind of busy these days but I'll try to do some native vs dxvk benchmarks some time next week.

Quoting: GuestWith the latest Vulkan driver from Nvidia there is a huge boost of performance across the board. Most games seem to run between 80 and 90% of the windows performance, i.e. about the same as a good Linux port. Shadow's seems to be at 15-20%. This is more or less the performance hit of the ROTR port compared to Windows.Quoting: chancho_zombieit seems that shadow of the tomb raider works very well with Proton. Oh man! I really feel sad for Feral now the have zero incentive for a real port.Well, performance wise, not paying attention to the graphical glitches, according to this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rFZh85TTmI [External Link]
performance are about 25%...35% lower than on windows, which means on linux it runs between 1/4 and 1/3 less of the original speed.
This is not what i'd call working well, and feral has been bashed for way less performance drop on their ports.
Now, considering the latest tomb rider from feral suffers of an average of **just** 10% performance drop, i can't see them stopping to port it just because of that.
Is your experience with proton different, maybe?
I think Proton and DXVK are nice projects over the original plain wine, and they sure brings more speed and friendlyness to the final user; but i can't consider buying a game made for windows, knowing it will run at 3/4 of the original speed.
I could change my mind if/when it will run at least at 85..90%, not less.
What happens if i buy a game today on windows, play with proton and next month a linux native port is made? who will take the money?

Quoting: GuestNothing. I know making statements is kind of the hip thing on Linux, but I'm just stating facts - no auto updates, cloud saves and cross platform save compatibility is a just not something I'm going to put up with. Which is why I play the GOG version of Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun solely on Windows.Quoting: mao_dze_dunI refuse to install the Linux versions of GOG games until they make a Linux version of the Galaxy client. Being able to share saves between a Windows and Linux install of a game is a big advantage of Steam. Not having cloud saves and automatic updates is so 90s.What will refusing to install them do, if you already bought them? I'm confused as to how that's meant to encourage them to give us the galaxy client
