Quoting: mao_dze_dunThere are tons of Steam only games. Why is all of a sudden Epic evil for having 3rd party esxclusives?
Nothing is stopping those developers/publishers from releasing on other platforms. At least on Valve's end. It's up to them. If you follow the link in the article you'll see examples of developers who previously released in other stores (like Supergiant) who have, for now, only exclusively launched their games on Epic's store. Presumably, they've signed a contract with Epic for full or limited-time exclusivity. That's an important distinction.
Actually, we have zero indication of this. I have absolutely no idea on what you're basing your assumptions, except for this one game, that was announced as a timed exclusive. It seems most devs who fully jumped ship are betting on compensating for the possibly lower volume of sales with the bigger cut they get from each sale. Quite frankly, I find this hostility towards Epic, for making a new store, silly. Valve don't own PC gaming. If somebody else offers a better price or better service - I'll shop there. The best thing that can happen to consumers is there is increased competition. And if Epic manage to make Valve sweat - even better.

Valve are a business that is trying to get its customers money by providing goods and services. Gabe Newell is a businessman, not our buddy or pal. Nothing more, nothing less. Writing a love letter to a company that doesn't give a damn about you (because it doesn't) is just weird. I appreciate what Valve did for Linux gaming, but in the end that's nothing more than a business decision. I don't write a thank you letter to the restaurants I eat at.

Move over Steam Link, there's a Raspberry Pi app in town now

One question I've yet to find the answer to is if the app works with the Chinese Android boxes. Cool to see they released it for rPi, though. Wish they'd have gone with a Steam Link 2 instead, with h256 and 4K support.

Yup, sticking to 396.54.09, for now. Damn shame.

I just realized Dharma is getting completely review bombed. Hint-hint Paradox. 20 bucks for a bare-bones DLC and then a 10 bucks immersion pack 2 months later. Why is it we hate on Ubisoft for games as a service, again?

Crusader Kings II: Holy Fury smites its way to release, some thoughts

Finaly a DLC that might be worth its money. Btw it's discounted on Greemangaming (as usual). Bought it in GBP, but ended up paying about 14 EUR as opposed to 20 on Steam. Can't wait to try it out tonight. Bonus - no bullsh*t sprite and portrait packs, this time around.

Book of Demons no longer getting a native Linux port, developer plans on 'supporting' Steam Play (updated)

As usual everybody hurried to be b*tthurt when a developer drops Linux support, because who can think of an actual legit reason for an undestaffed small studio with no Linux experience not to offer day one perfect native support. But hey - the forum talk heads definitely know better that the people actually making the game. Gosh, I hate that entitled attitude...

Anyway, the follow-up Liam posted is very sensible and they definitely made the right call. If it runs with close to Windows performance and they work on Proton compatibility problems - who cares if it's not native. Half the "ports" are Windows games in a wrapper. Maybe soon you can start reviewing official Proton games, too, Liam.

Lutris game manager release 0.4.22 is out to further refine the experience

Ok, I have to ask - obviously you reject Wine out of principle. Does that mean you don't use Proton either?

PS Overwatch runs so well with Lutris, I've never actually played it in Windows. Go figure.

A new Humble Monthly is out and it’s not bad with Cities: Skylines (and DLC) plus MGSV

Quoting: 14This one is good for me. I don't own Cities yet and I'd like to have MGS:V on PC if it runs someday. I have the PS Plus version, but, you know PC master race.
It seems to wok fine in Proton [External Link]. I've actually seen videos of it running fine, a while ago.
