Sci-fi horror 'SOMA' now has an easier mode to give a different experience
4 Dec 2017 at 7:43 pm UTC

maybe you did not realize this: once you "look" at enemies, they get closer to you, eventually killing you. as I remember the story told that some malfunctions occur with them/you once you look at them - the solution is often (even if an enemy is very close to you) to look 180° in the opposite direction, or towards some wall or corner. then they usually go away.

there are a few situations where you have to think and act accordingly, but most of the time the rule is: do not look at them and you should be able to pass.

SOMA is really something special, honestly I'd appreciate some harder mode or something, that would bring something new/interesting to play it again, since it has no sequel

The developers of 'Darkwood' have put up a free torrent if you can't afford to buy it

It is set in an isolated forest somewhere in the Soviet Bloc, where the main characters have been trapped for an unknown amount of time.
sounds interesting. Any chance for a linux torrent? I would like to try that game out first. Demos are something that I truly miss these days :/

What games do you want ported to Linux? Feral Interactive want to know again

Frankly, I'd like to know whether Feral made contact to some of the bigger studios, like perhaps Ubisoft.

My idea there is to port lots of the games they have. Ubisoft has tons of good games, from Splinter Cell to Rainbow Six. My guess is that most of these games use similar techniques behind the scenes, making it easier to port one title after another..

I think he refers to firmware updates. I have not seen any since a year or so.

I think it was all just about clickbaiting. Write nonsense, just to have people read it in shock. This one obviously contains less truth and research. And Half-Life has nothing to do with it, except that it runs perfectly fine on steamOS ^_^

Check out the Valve presentation from Unite Europe, major Steam Client redesign to come

does the redesign affect he big picture mode as well..? or is it just the steam client, perhaps the website as well?

Shadow of Mordor is currently 80% off and free to play for a few days

the camera movement is joystick-like, which maybe not that ideal, but of course one can configure that in the controller settings to whatever is desired and it does work pretty well.

at least it is nice to see a steam controller and not that everywhere present xbox controllers. I also have one, but I don't like to play via cable, it misses a gyro sensor, but at least it has rumble feedback. something I truly miss with the steam controller. the rumble emulation does not work at all for me, although my controller firmware should support it according to valve.
