I was really waiting for this, I even added it to my wishlist to get notified as soon as it is released.
So much talking about this, even the successor project-cars-2 promises linux support...and now this? "there are no plans"? wtf?
More honesty would be nice, more text, replies, an excuse or at least some reason would be nicer to read than this short reply without regrets what so ever. a shame it is, nothing more. no bux for these devs from my side. seems they have enough though.

ah damn, I misread that the same way I did before with the previous announcement - it is not about the stable release, but the beta release.
Any ideas when any of that will be stable? I am still stuck with the default 355 nvidia drivers, I do not want to put my system into beta mode (except for the steam client).

just tried it out. I think I played that before just for fun with wine on my laptop. Performance was like 5fps of course, but now on my steam machine with all possible settings maxed it runs perfectly.
very nice mod so far, just play it in the dark :>

that's it. My library has quite lots of games, but well, I enjoy robbing banks.
Even if it is a serious waste of time, I see people with more than 5000+ hours of active gameplay. I mean...that's more than half a year 24/7 of Payday2 ? So I'm still pretty normal, having just 300 hours, since it is 1st day on Linux.

uhm, after all that talking and assumption that feral will do something - is there actually any statement from them?
perhaps GOL or someone could ask them on twitter or something for a status update. I'd like to know whether they are (really) on it and whether there is something that can be done to improve the performance. surely there must be some reason why they delayed the release so long, I bet it was that issue with the performance.
also, mentioned that the CPU is kinda idle, that might be some indication that the rendering is done on gpu-level only - which would be sad news, since `changing` that would not be just as easy as some minor tweaks

does the onscreen keyboard with steamOS work for everyone?
each time I focus a chat and press the steam-button on my controller to activate the keyboard, nothing shows up that I type in in the chat input. focus is there for sure, other buttons (mapped to single letters) do work.

SteamOS 2.67 beta now available, now prefers HDMI & DisplayPort and pulseaudio updates

hm, I encountered problems with Metro and Kodi, that can lead to sound stutter in case when:
1. kodi is started, some film watched, kodi then quit and a game launched: the game-sound stutters heavily then
2. in metro when for example lots of loud firing happens in some heavy-action scenes, then suddenly at half the magazine fired, the same stutter occurs just as after 1.
I am using HDMI 5.1 over nVidia video card.
the only solution for me was to restart the system. So basically after every movie-session a restart is required to avoid that issue.
this happens at least with the current built, I opted-out from the beta since I had some issues once and don't want to mess around this again.
does anyone have similar problems? the mentioned pulseaudio update does obviously not address this.
