I think you need to complete the B side to allow you to complete the A side. I guess more appears on A after you % up on B.

Quoting: GuestI've named 1 planet and 1 sun so far... still not sure what to do to finish side A though (found all structures, and have a bunch of circles pulsating but not sure what to do...)I've named like 3-4 places, didn't know you could name Suns?!

Quoting: HamishWhy the need for a new CPU? Since they are using the same engine, can the hardware specifications really have changed that much? Was meant for recording not for Amnesia. Recording makes my CPU crap out a little, AMD's APU's aren't known for their CPU power :(, going to go for an 8-core AMD next shouldn't have an issue there!

Been playing this a bit myself, I have to say it's bloody confusing at the start but you do sort-of quickly what to do.
Still not sure I really "get it" though.

Porting Games Over To Linux Using Wine

I don't see Cider being exciting since it's essentially a wine wrapper, Cider is basically Cedega marketed to companies, so it's essentially Wine deep down = not native at all.

Quoting: hardpenguinI never thought of it like that, great point, it would be like using OpenGL without any sound or input libraries I guess heh.Quoting: Quote from liamdaweI do find it odd that Wine itself has not made a front-end like PlayOnLinux, then again it would destroy a lot of Crossover's business I guess.Well Wine provides just the technology. It is not really a final product :>
Quoting: DrMcCoyThere will always be older games full of random middleware that they can't port over, you can educate people for future but not for the past.Quoting: QuoteShould a developer rip out a whole chunk of their game and rewrite parts of it?They shouldn't have used non-portable middleware in the first place. Having to rewrite those parts might make them learn that lesson. Allowing them to do a shoddy Wine "port" sends exactly the wrong message.
I can, however, understand DOSBox and Wine for older games. Though I would have preferred if they'd "just" reverse-engineered and reimplemented System Shock 2. But I am one of those insane people with the ScummVM team, after all. :P

Quoting: LinasWhat makes it worse is that you end up stuck with whatever version of Wine they packaged it with and all the hacks they made, which means that you cannot take advantage of newer Wine versions. So taking a Windows version and running it on a modern version of Wine does seem like a better options. But that is not really a port, is it?A very good point indeed, unless the developers keep up with active support and hack away at the "wine port" to keep up with newer versions of wine you will be a bit stuck.

Games and performance is what will bring people over, both of which have increased greatly thanks to Steam. We do have quite a lot to thank Valve for, quite a few projects have been quick to improve because of Valve.

The Scrolls developers sadly won't reply to me so I think I may just stop giving them any attention and drive force to indie's who won't shut us out.
