Hm, so this was basically a product placement? https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/y2va0r/steamdeck_just_arrived_today_couldnt_resist/ [External Link]
Looks like they were pretty clear in the comments on that post that they work for the company. They could have mentioned it in the title but a small company with an excited employee i guess.

Steam Deck Boot Videos get an easy app, plus videos coming to the Points Shop

Even if it wasn’t a Flatpak, that doesn’t change anything. You can run standalone apps just fine on Steam Deck and always have been able to. It’s just the Arch repo installing that’s not on by default.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyTo be honest, I feel much more confident about sticking a file in a folder or two than I do about installing applications from Github. Especially on a system that will dump non-Flatpak applications after a while.
As already mentioned, nothing about this gets overwritten and it is a Flatpak application. Not sure where you got either idea from in this.

Chrome on Steam Deck now supports the Deck Controller, with GeForce NOW working

Quoting: BrumpoTungusHey, I followed the links here from this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCVy2BzxzN8&t=127s [External Link]

I was wondering if you could help me. The creator of the video responded and said he has not had this problem.

The shortcuts work well in desktop mode, no problems. Initially I had a single "instance" or "listing of a non-steam game" of chrome and it worked well in game mode. Then, following the youtube tutorial above, I added listings directed at youtube, disney+, prime video, etc. I changed the names from google chrome to youtube, disney+, etc. and added artwork and added the konsole command shown in the video. I added the suffix in the properties directing each "non steam game" to the specific sites. But now each time I open one of these links in game mode, I get a prompt to sign into google chrome with my email address and password. Does anyone know how to get the browser to remember my login credentials and stay signed in in game mode? Or what might be the cause of the browser constantly needing a sign in?
You're better off posting in Discord [External Link] or the Forum, rather than commenting on an older article. Support stuff should always be it's own thing.

FAQ on the Kickstarter shows it's expected across all platform. As always, it's just a plan and anything can change.

Yeah, could have worded that better. Once again though, there is a corrections feature to send a comment directly to me and others to offer an improvement. Please use it instead of comments we might miss.

JSAUX wasted no time with a new Steam Deck Docking Station with DisplayPort
9 Oct 2022 at 12:56 pm UTC

I'm not sure what the complaint is though? It's launched now, it's cheaper than the official dock and going by their previous products that I have in my hands - it's good quality. So people had to wait a little bit - so what? :)

Quoting: dgwThey did waste time on it, though. A dock model HB0702 with DisplayPort was listed on the JSAUX site (but marked out of stock) when I ordered some other stuff back in August. I've been in contact with them about when the DisplayPort version would return for weeks. Was eventually told it would launch again mid-September, but we got the NVMe one instead.

You can find me and others asking about HB0702 in r/JSAUX on reddit, with varying levels of success. It's been a whole Saga™, and they took too long for me. Ordered the Valve dock the day it was put up for sale.
Being listed is not the same as being launched. It has only just launched.
