Quoting: VitalyR495.44 and 470.86 is in stable
They have two stable driver series, one of which gets the big new features, while the other seems to mainly stick to bug fixes.

Quoting: VitalyR470.62.12 is in beta
As noted, it's a developer-focused Beta, for where new Vulkan work gets added first for developers to test. Stick with stable drivers.

The Zink driver for OpenGL over Vulkan shows good performance on NVIDIA

I'm pretty sure you guys still got the point I was making. All future stuff is going to Vulkan, we're not talking years old stuff here that's still with OpenGL, which is where Zink will come in...

Quoting: robvvI can almost hear minds whirring away, thinking, "Challenge Accepted!"
Considering the original issue from a youtuber was following commands found online, this change won't solve anything. People will just read something from an old stackoverflow thread, or ubuntu forums, or somesuch, and blindly follow that while ignoring the massive neon warning signs that it could break the system.
Well the point is that it's one step harder to break now. While yes, someone will go and find the new command to do it, APT won't tell you it and the actual command name speaks for itself...

Look, I went to Blobby Land as a child and know how evil Mr. Blobby is okay.

...they're not the same versions and sold separately...
Except they are not sold separately, because they completely removed those old GTAs from stores.
That doesn't change my point.

SteamVR Overlay not working on Arch or Manjaro Linux? Here's a fix
17 Nov 2021 at 4:48 pm UTC Likes: 5

Quoting: poisondThe easy workaround on arch is to install steam-native-runtime and run steam-native instead of steam.
Due to how it works though, that can introduce all sorts of other issues, and Valve definitely don't support people running that. This simple fix touches so little and gets it working.

Even the Arch documentation makes this clear:
Warning: Using the Steam native runtime is not recommended as it might break some games due to binary incompatibility and it might miss some libraries present in the Steam runtime.
Edit: plus this fix will probably help any other distro as they upgrade too.

Quoting: EhvisOf course, for me the overlay won't show at all nine out of ten times, but at least I don't have arch problems
Sounds like you should try the fix ;)

Quoting: CorbenOn Ubuntu I had the issue for a while, that the Dashboard didn't come up on the first start, but a second start of SteamVR mostly helped.
That was the same for me on Arch, but recently (don't know when) it just fully broke until I properly went looking to find this fix. Hopefully it helps others who don't want to trawl through GitHub.

Quoting: LeopardThen some user asks how much of those sales were split between Epic Games Store and Steam, answer is: %1 was on Steam.
Wrong [External Link]. 1% was on the Epic Store, not Steam. You messed up your stores there a bit ;)
