All in all, we didn't save too much time from having a Linux build, most of the system work is dependent on the platform. For example, achievements, save data handling, input handling, etc is specific for the Stadia platform and it doesn't really matter too much which OS is running in the background. The biggest single chunk of work was porting the game to Vulkan, which took a bit over a month.
Just another excuse from Larian not to support Linux.
As mentioned, that quote was from Image & Form, not Larian.

Steam doesn't find it so family-friendly, it seems! Why?
Probably as Steam doesn't know it too well yet. I can't see why it would need that notice. There's no combat, the world is colourful and sweet and nothing so far has made me think it's not suitable for 7+.

Personally, I would also love to see Feral do BL3 now their Vulkan tech is great. Aspyr really have let us down on BL2.

Well, it's a free game and you could just nicely ask them to add it?

Quoting: PatolaBought it with all DLCs whe it went to Steam. And since the game works so well under proton (DirectX 12 mode on Proton 5.0.3! Incredible!) I would prefer if they spent their efforts more productively, e.g. maybe adding Vulkan support including raytracing?
Well, I would prefer exactly what they're doing. Getting their game on Linux. Nice it works in Proton, but developers doing Linux versions is still absolutely vital to Linux gaming. Whose to say it won't have Vulkan support since they did that for Stadia already.

Quoting: CybolicHmmm... I'm getting the good ol' "missing executable" error when trying to run the game.

EDIT: Seems the Linux depot is empty :/
Have emailed both the dev and pr team to get it sorted.

Edit: They emailed back, it's solved.

what more could you ask for?
Gaming On Linux Community game night? Full multiplayer games with weird settings so no amount of practice will help you out. :D
I actually like the idea of that, might have to make it happen.

Depends. If I want to learn about a new Mesa regression or the raw speed of an AMD setup vs Intel's offering I would definitely go to Phoronix.
Phoronix definitely has a place, and they do some good work. I'm not going to advocate for not reading them over this.

In Swedish it would be "en storm i ett vattenglas" ^_^

I don't get why some people feel the need to shit on Michael for reporting the exact same thing Liam did.
There was even a note that it might be a clerical error, and the article made no wild speculations or crazy assumptions beyond the brief explanations of "compulsory strike-off" and "UK Companies House register".
I bet most people reading GoL had no idea what those things meant, myself included.
I'll be clear, I only covered it because Phoronix pushed it out and we were getting hassled by email after email about it. In times like this, we're basically forced to say something.
