Quoting: darkoverlordofdataSince the xylib fiasco was caused by the dev team of record, I don't see this as any actual protection. This isn't related to that, it's more related to the Snap scam apps that kept appearing. That Flathub actually go through verifying the real developers. Two very different situations.

Quoting: PenglingMy thoughts are that when you buy, say, a kettle, that kettle is yours to keep. If someone from the company that made the kettle were to come into your house a few years after you buy it and take away the kettle that you bought and paid for, that would be illegal. It should be the same for video games. It's very simple, really. But this does happen, with all these "smart" products. See news all the time about features removed, suddenly subscriptions needed to keep certain features going and so on. It's not just gaming it happens. Sadly.

Quoting: Kirbybut they released a free game in their launcher for 20$ on steamNothing “scam” about it. Developers are free to release on Steam however they want, they decided for now to bundle a package with the Steam purchase which wasn’t all that bad. As for Early Access, they planned to keep improving it and so decided for Steam specifically it wasn’t to be classed as a full complete ready release. There’s really nothing wrong with how they did it.
marked as early access too when its the full title release, straight scam

Quoting: CatKillerOH. I get what you mean now specifically the Xbox button itself. Yeah, needs to be a Home icon like on the actual unit.Quoting: Liam DaweTrue in a way, but it is just the standard Xbox styled layout, so not really an issue and may change before release.I hope it does. Their promo image is showing the user having to press a button that the machine doesn't actually have. It just seems sloppy.

It's Steam Big Picture mode, the glyphs are based on the controller or spoofed controller. They could have worked with upstream Valve/SDL, though, so that the controller was an actual Orange Pi Neo rather than a spoofed anything.
Of course they've got time to do that still; it's just a mock-up with no release date at the moment. But if they were going to do that, they'd probably have tidied up their mock-up.

Quoting: BrokattYeah I've heard a few horror stories about the initial Plasma 6 release, so I'm actually kinda glad to wait a bit.Quoting: Linux_RocksToo bad no KDE Plasma 6 in Kubuntu though. 🐌🐢Yes but when Kubuntu 24.10 is released Plasma will be up to version 6.2/6.3/something and most bugs will have been fixed  Plasma 5.27 is so good that at least I don't mind using it for 6 more months. It's just a very stable desktop. Maybe a little boring but I take stable and boring over new and buggy every day of the week
