In my future I foresee a whole lot of hours in Dungeon Clawler

I found it entertaining, like chucking coins into a machine at an arcade only with no money loss. Here it's also not so random, and fairer since the claw actually works. You can fill up the machine with liquid too, quite amusing.

Mini Airways is like Mini Metro / Mini Motorways but for aircraft

Quoting: scaineThat's incredibly naff though, isn't it? Emulating a developer's style and releasing a game that was probably on the original developer's backlog anyway? Feels like their "All Quiet Roads" controversy all over again.
While the naming I can agree to an extend is a bit naughty pinching on a clear scheme from the other developer, the gameplay mechanics in a different setting are pretty fair game - mechanically it looks quite unique in how it works.

Edit: reading up more on it, the developers Dinosaur Polo Club even apologised [External Link] on their reaction to All Quiet Roads.

To be fair, this is the beta of the new upcoming version. It would be a bigger problem if new point releases of the stable version showed a lot of that. Well, for all I know maybe they do.
Yeah, it's exactly what a Beta is for.

Quoting: soulsourceThey were lucky. Just consider what happens if you launch a game like this and don't immediately find enough concurrent users for matchmaking to work...
Not luck, effort. They had built up wishlists for quite a while to a big amount before launch. And a demo on itch previously too.

They also teased on Mastodon "Some BIG announcements incoming over the next few weeks. Stay tuned...", so I wonder what that could be. Exciting.
A System76 handheld! Lol!
Well, that certainly would be something to see.

Quoting: InterknetRemember when we used to reiterate the importance of reading code that you download online? Just me?
People don't expect that downloading what is a new look, will execute random code. No one should have to go and fully inspect everything they download, the OS needs safeguards which here are clearly lacking.

The Last of Us Part I added AMD FSR 3 with Frame Generation

Quoting: rustybroomhandleStill hoping this gets hacked into Proton (and by extension SteamOS) in place of the current global FSR.
As far as I know it’s basically impossible due to how FSR2+ work.

GE-Proton 9-2 released, ULWGL gets renamed to umu (Unified Linux Wine Game Launcher)

Quoting: voytrekkIs this something that we should be using in Lutris now? GE hasn't released a Wine-GE-9.x yet.
Wine-GE is pretty much no longer a thing with GE-Proton and umu together.

Respawn release statement and update on the Apex Legends hacking situation
20 Mar 2024 at 10:54 am UTC Likes: 6

Quoting: dpanterSo it's not EAC's fault and it's also not Apex Legends fault? Or... how is this message supposed to be interpreted? Doesn't seem like an admission of fault, more like Respawn saying "we're just gonna fix some stuff don't worry about it oh also some people were hacked or whatever probably random and unrelated dw gyze lol"
Reads like it was a problem in Apex they're patching to me.
