Quoting: creeddaSo if I am reading this right, I should be able to plop on my couch, turn on my controller, and my steam deck should wake up from sleep, turn my tv on, set it to the right input and i can put in my pin and game.
As far as I know, this is still specific to the OLED. Before this update, headphones would even turn it on lol. So they're tweaking it to make sure they don't.

With a Nintendo Switch 2 on the way, I hope Valve make a Steam Deck 2

Quoting: grigiWhat do you think is a good cadence for updates? 3 years? 4 years? more?
The 8 year cadence of the switch is too long as it has definitely been losing developer interest in the last two years as it's too weak to support on multiplatform releases anymore.
It's far too long, the Switch was low-powered even at release and it has missed a fair amount of games as it's just not strong enough.

For the Deck 2, my suggestion there about announcing it late 2026, would mean a release in 2027. Making it about 5 years between Deck and Deck 2 which for a PC platform seems pretty darn reasonable to me, considering the Deck struggles a lot with newer games right now.

Quoting: SlyvanThe linux .so library is missing again... i hope this will be checked more often. I hate the fact that no one tests for linux/the steamdeck. This happens so frequently that i almost think it's on purpose...
Epic & EA are involved... it very likely is on purpose.
As I already commented, that is not used in EOS EAC and the issue has been solved by Valve.

It doesn’t use it for the EOS version. That’s the old style.

Quoting: Dmitri SeletskiFirst one was not a bad game but they tap into ever decreasing audience.
I am not going to buy second game if I don't beat first one.
And I did not beat it.(frankly lost interest, game is monotonous as fuck, even with different skills)
Could I beat it? Yes, I went 60% into game, but I grew bored.
Well, Hades II has already beaten the all-time concurrent player peak on Steam by quite a lot, so it's clearly very popular :)

Quoting: liloventDidn't work for me, sadly.

It always downloads the Windows version, after going to the compatibility tab, checking it (Boxtron is displayed) and removing it, downloads the Linux version.

After closing the Steam client and re-opening it, the installation reverts to the Windows version. It's not a big deal, but slightly irritating.
Sounds like you might have a bug in the Steam client there. I would suggest gathering all info and reporting on GitHub [External Link].

Steam PC and Steam Deck Beta released solving Proton 9 download issues

Quoting: GuestConfusing title. "Steam PC"? I'd personally use something like "Steam Client Beta & Deck Beta" to describe it.

Steam PC immediately fired off my bull$#!t detector thinking it was a new product, but it did take me a second to realise what the article was actually about. :p
Steam...on a PC. It's pretty normal compact wording.
