Quoting: lucinosone small detail. It is not a "free game", it is a "free to play game".
Lolwhut.

Oculus Rift VR headset will support Linux after release, looking like it's going to be pricey

Quoting: BeamboomI can't understand how one can not be allowed to have a few hours time for him/herself in the evenings now and then even if a baby is in the picture. I mean, seriously. What spouse don't allow that? Being married with children is not a jail. A family doesn't demand your attention every wake minute.
I'm going to guess you don't have your own family? They take up a lot of time.

Quoting: BeamboomFurthermore I can not fathom how one can not be excited about the prospect of entering the game world, engulf it all around you. I just don't get it.

Obviously, I am dying to get this technology. The wait is finally over. It's been a dream ever since I saw the holodeck on Star Trek. And yes, I got a wife and children - the youngest being 6 months. As if that in any way shape or form should be an obstacle.
It's an exciting thought, but after testing out VR myself I was left feeling a little weirded out by it. I didn't feel immersed at all as I was very aware I had something strapped to my face, with screens right in front my eyes which causes eye strain after a while.

Planetary Annihilation: The journey of a Kickstarter

Quoting: edqePeople who can't stand the fact they may not get the product or the product ends up to late or very bad, shouldn't put money to crowdfunded projects.
The problem is this is supposed to be a finished game. It had Kickstarter, Early Access and a standalone expansion, they had a lot of time to polish it up.

I hope they haven't dropped it completely, but I don't see any patches coming anytime soon.

Looks like Total War: Rome II might not be coming to Linux & SteamOS now

Quoting: fenevadkanThat manager was surely thinking about Total War: Attila, which indeed has come out. AngryPenguin also mentioned this but no more repliles, probably lost in twitter messages? But indeed their empoyee should know more about what is happening in his company...
I hope it is not dropped since everyone saying Attila seems like just a Rome2 DLC, same engine etc.
So it should be hard to port to linux at all, just get the same engine from Attila.
Rome 2 and Atilla look/sound nothing alike in their names, I can't see how they would get confused.

Quoting: coolboberHmmm... Should be some notice on main page that voting is open. I can only see Carmageddon and Hyper Light notice.
It's directly below it, above all news.
Ok I'm blind.... Maybe too small?? Maybe should be in different color?
It was supposed to be, fixed.

Arma 3 Linux port update in testing, possible BattlEye support to come too
6 Jan 2016 at 3:48 pm UTC

Quoting: BdMdesigNTFAR will get a linux port, but the dev's will wait on the update: https://github.com/michail-nikolaev/task-force-arma-3-radio/issues/1030 [External Link]
Their reply was a bit ambiguous, they could have only been agreeing with what they need to being in the Arma 3 Linux client, not that it will be ported for the next version.

Keep us posted though, will be interesting to see if they do support us in future.

Quoting: fleskThere has also been a blue information box about the nominations at the top of the front page for the last couple of weeks. Maybe it would have been better if it was red and blinking though. :)
One thing on my todo list is to have those announce boxes have alternating colours to help bring attention to them.

Hand of Fate is a brilliant game, you should really give it a go on Linux & SteamOS

I did just have it freeze up on me once then, but it saved the progress to the last card I finished, so that's nice. I sent a log to the developer.
