The Steam Hardware Survey for September 2016 shows Linux has grown some more

Is there information on what the margin of error of the survey is? That kind of information I'd be interested in. Seems very likely that these sorts of fluctuations are statistically insignificant and not really worth writing any news about.

I'm always on the lookout for decent typing games and this one really delivers. Wasn't sure if it worked with my modest graphics card so the demo was really helpful and I bought it after testing. Was very useful for testing my new keyboard too.

I watched it being played on absnerdity's stream. It looked awesome and he said it was, definitely seems like it would be worth picking up, I checked for a Linux version back then and saw that it wasn't yet released so didn't proceed to buy but now I may.

Quoting: zikzakI wonder what kind of engine they use not to be able to do such a game multiplatform from the get-go.Their own maybe? For a game like this I could see them just rolling one.
Dota 2 to add two more heroes, one of which is not from the original DotA

Quoting: KeyrockAbout 50. I'm terrible at the game but I really love watching it. It's my favorite eSport to watch because it's such a ridiculously complicated game and has so many layers of strategy (drafting, laning setup, itemization, rotations, team fight positioning, etc.)and quite possibly the highest skill ceiling of any game ever made. It's what makes the DotA community so toxic (as with most competitive games, the community gets less toxic the higher skill level you get to, since the high skilled players understand how hard this game is). It's a ridiculously difficult game where 4 other people are depending on you to not **** up. The stress level is extraordinarily high, which makes it extremely compelling to watch and nerve-wracking to play.I think Starcraft: Brood War and even Starcraft 2 are much more demanding when it comes to mechanical skills. Shooters like Quake demand entirely different skills but also still have skill ceiling so high that no human being is ever going to reach it. All those games are strategically very complex as well. Not to say Dota 2 is easy or anything...

I like the style of the trailer but still not getting a very clear picture of what the gameplay will consist of. Seems interesting at least with all the different situations you run into.

Seems very cool. See the link for some gameplay recorded back in '88 on a VCR. :)

Battlestation: Harbinger changing its name due to trademark troubles, new update soon too

Hate these overly broad trademarks that seem to be granted these days (always were?). It's not as bad as the "Wasteland" debacle which made inXile lose a lot of respect from me even though I'm still very interested in Torment. Still don't think any one developer should have total control over the word "Battlestation" in game titles either.
Key reselling store G2A to make some small steps towards helping developers

Quoting: burzmaliAand you know for a fact that people selling on G2A are either not from the countries where it's legal despite these terms or that the majority of keys have been obtained thousands at a time exactly how?Quoting: badberWhat exactly are you basing that on?I read, or at least glance through, the terms and conditions when I buy things. "Not for resale" clauses are the norm not the exception. Some countries will let a resale slide as consumer's rights, but buying thousands of copies, specifically for resale, wouldn't be protected under such provisions.

Quoting: burzmaliWhat exactly are you basing that on?Quoting: badberIf G2A will become more cooperative and allows the publishers/developers to check the keys and goes even further in the future, it'll be OK.If they do that, they go out of business. The majority of keys for sale are from stolen credit cards and the majority of the remainder were originally sold with a "not for resale" clause in the purchasing agreement.
