Looks intriguing, but will there be more guns than just pistols?

Why was this topic [External Link] on /r/linux_gaming removed?

Steam for Linux Is a little messed up, here's the temporary fix!

Quoting: SamsaiEdit: Removing the appcache actually might affect installing games on Steam, but we have mixed results about that.
After reading that, I decided not to apply this fix just yet. I am way too risk averse for that!

Quoting: Quote from n30p1r4t3I honestly don't think L4D1 will be ported. Why? Because L4D2 has all the maps and characters as the first just with different gameplay mechanics. Also, I don't think L4D1 is that popular anymore for the above reasons (Please correct me if I'm wrong).

Yes I would love to see another game on Linux, but if the technical side outweighs the practical, why bother?
Plenty of people do still play it; different gameplay mechanics being one reason. But the logic is flawed if you consider the games that have just been ported (same as HL and HL: DM but with ragdolls, water physics and lighting).
That is exactly my thinking as well. What you said pretty much invalidates any reason not to port Left 4 Dead. I would quite like to see it on Linux myself considering how I paid for it.

They need to do an updated video to show it all off, maybe that's a job for us if anyone would like to see an up to date video of it in action?
That sounds like a wonderful idea, Liam. I would definitely want to watch that.

As GOG has failed me once again, I'll be giving these guys my 500$ instead. GOG has had too many chances from me now.

GOG.com Don't Plan On Introducing Linux Support In The Foreseeable Future UPDATED
5 Sep 2013 at 5:32 pm UTC

Looks like I won't be doing a 500$ giveaway using GOG games in the foreseeable future. Luckily, Wildfire Games (the nonprofit organization behind 0 A.D.) is doing an Indiegogo Campaign. [External Link] That's where my money will go.

I am using SimpleScreenRecorder [External Link] to record the game and Audacity to record the commentary. Then I just sync the tracks in OpenShot so that the video has both the audio from the game and the audio from my mic.
Have you heard of Open Broadcaster Software [External Link]?
There isn't Linux version
What? I swear a friend told me it had one...or maybe he said that it will come later. Checking the website, it seems like the latter. Sorry about that!
Don't worry it fine :)

I checked their F.A.Q and it seems that it is planned.
Mac and Linux are planned in the future once OBS has reached a more finalised state feature wise.
