I remember trying to replay SS on hard where there was a time limit and failing miserably to meet it. I just might take another crack at it now :-)

My enthusiasm has cooled somewhat after the first impressions I'd read, but the tinkerer in me can't wait to try and find perfect settings for each and every game I own.

There should be no apostrophe in the title of the article, BTW. It now reads Steam Controller Is Now Have a Later Shipping Date. Whi'ch make's n'o s'ens'e. :-)

The only problem with this I see is that the CPU you got is rated by AMD at 125W, whereas the cooler is rated aby Arctic Cooling at 85W. I'd be careful there.

As for VP ports, how is the updates on Witcher II? Are they still in Beta or they have released it for the "stable" version?

The version on GOG is no longer a beta, it looks final (version 1.2.0.7 I think). But they require a 20 GB single-file download and I haven't been able to do that these past couple of days...

Witcher 3 is by far my most anticipated game of the coming months, to the point I preordered on GOG even though the Linux version has not really been announced, hoping it will be.

That said, my computer barely ran Witcher 2 at 720p, so I'm almost certain I'll be playing this on the PS4 instead anyway.

"Terrible" was such an unnecessarily strong word. The VP ports are what's on everyone's mind in this respect, especially with the new game announced just recently. It's as good a representation of all layers as any.

Any non-Linux centred gaming (or otherwise) site will be indifferent at best and hostile at worst towards anything Linux related.

I guess people hate change and prefer to remain where they feel comfortable. It's hard to fault them for it, really.

That I find quite surprising. It's a UE3 game and it runs very well in Wine - that's the way I played it in its entirety.
