Quoting: slaapliedjeBack when I played the original, I never even knew there was multiplayer, mostly because I wouldn't have been interested in it anyway.Quoting: ArehandoroAmazing! Tempted getting this. Can't really comment on the current community, as I generally don't play multiplayer except with people I personally know (not just for NWN, but in general). But it uses 3.5 edition. Even 4th edition wasn't around when Neverwinter Nights was released.
How's the player base nowadays? Is it based on e3.5 or e5? Is the game, and community, welcoming for a new inexperienced player? How easy is to implement mods and player content in Linux?

I've been using Nvidia GPUs for over a decade, but I'm strongly considering a switch after this new release. Hopefully, they'll be powerful and well-supported.

Quoting: ShmerlWhat you're saying might actually matter if we were talking about images of real things. These are computer-generated images in the first place. Using an A.I. to "approximate" them is meaningless to your eyes. If it looks right and runs faster on your machine, why would it matter?Quoting: TheRiddickHave you even tried DLSS 2.0? (and 3.0 down the pipe will be better)If you increase resolution, reconstructed image can only be an approximation, no matter how much machine learning you'll throw at it. That's just how it works by definition.
Your comments strongly suggest you've only ever read about it

In a weird twist, this game works on Proton but crashes on Xbox Game Pass in Windows 10. :D

I saw a pretty good video demonstrating this game being played on a variety of VR sets for those who can't afford Valve's fancy one. Of course, you'd miss some of the control features, but it's still playable.

I tried it on Stadia during this free trial period, and it was a stutter fest. Not good when you're trying to race. I even tried it with a wired connection on my Fiber network. It was better but still not nearly as good as a local copy would be.

Quoting: poke86The way I do it (xubuntu):And just to clarify, if you update your kernel and forget that you manually installed the Nvidia driver, you'll get dropped to the command line on your next boot to remind you. :D
- Download the driver
- chmod +x on the package
- log into to tty1, run > sudo service lightdm stop
- launch the package, follow the instructions
- sudo service lightdm start
there you go, there's a chance you might have to do it again next time you update you kernel.

I hope Google learns from Nvidia and starts offering a away to play games you already have in your Steam/GOG libraries rather than having to buy online-only versions of those games.
Google plan over 120 Stadia games this year, 10 coming to Stadia before other platforms

Valve got developers interested in SteamOS by showing them the value of Linux as a gaming platform. Google has failed to do that with Stadia. They want developers to port to their platform exclusively. Why not port to Stadia and also release a Linux version? That gives developers more incentive since Linux already as a community, albeit a small one.
