This game is PEGI 3. Does that mean when you fall off your bike, you land safely on a unicorn-shaped pillow?

Windows 10 S might alarm Valve into boosting SteamOS again

This isn't at all surprising. This is the way most commercial operating systems are going. MacOS already has an "S mode" equivalent, and ChromeOS is like this as well (You have to enable developer mode to get more out of it). Having said that, the only place I've seen a Mac locked down that way is at work, and even then, if you're the administrator of your computer, you can still override it by going through a few warning dialogs.

It's certainly not ideal, but Windows was far from ideal anyway. My point is that this is clearly geared toward enterprise and schools (where Microsoft is losing ground to Chromebooks). They can't be stupid enough to alienate their gaming community, especially when gaming is at an all time high. Then again, I've been wrong about them before. :S:

Six-degree-of-freedom shooter 'Overload' will now have multiplayer at release, teaser video revealed

If they were to release a level editor for this game, it would be unstoppable. I'm already in love with it. It's the first I've played that gave me the same "ship crawling through a dungeon" feeling that Descent always gave me.Having said that, I'm afraid to try multiplayer right now. :D

The Talos Principle updated with Vulkan improvements, OpenGL fixes and more, plus some benchmarks

Quoting: pete910Nice improvement! Every little helps.

Really wish Vulkan would be more widely used tbh. More chance of us Linux people getting a port too.
To be fair, there are more games with Vulkan support than DirectX 12 support. I'd say that's progress.

Quoting: PeciskTheir current version for Linux is very playable, I feel even performance have been improved.
Oh then i have to test one more time against my config.
I couldn't play much because of performance on my [email protected] (Core i7 4th quad, GT750, 16Go, SSD).

I did not follow the progress on this game but did you see better performance when they upgraded Unreal Engine or did they work on optimizations ?
If you are, in fact, using a GT 750M and not a GTX 750, your video chip is well below the system requirements for the game.

Having said that, I wouldn't say performance is perfect even on my GTX 970. There are places where the framerate drops, but those are rare. Overall, it's been pretty decent for me. I turn some settings down to keep it steady at 60 FPS, which is just my preference.

The beta was fun, and Ajna's really cute. I'd buy it.

F1 2017 released for Linux as Feral Interactive’s first Vulkan-only title, here’s a port report
2 Nov 2017 at 11:26 pm UTC Likes: 8

People need to realize that a game that wasn't designed to run on Linux (and Vulkan) will likely never be able to equal or surpass Windows performance unless the developers rewrite the code for Linux themselves. This is a port done by a third party where they let their DX11 to Vulkan translating thingamajig (yeah I know nothing about the code, obviously) do the work.

I'm not saying that's good or bad for Linux, but it's the reality. I'm not sure why anyone is surprised by this since Feral has used the same process for all their games. Is it because the word "Vulkan" is being used? That doesn't change the fact that it's still a DX11 game. If you can't settle for less than DX11 performance, you'll have to play it on Windows.
