Saints Row 2 is currently free on Steam, other Saints Row titles on sale

I think this is one game that would be worth a remake. Notice I said "remake" and not "remaster". I mean actually remaking the game with the same location and story, or at least making another game that takes place in Stillwater. I think it was by far the best location of all the Saints Row games and one of the best open worlds ever.

Dark Horizons: Mechanized Corps adds Linux support with a Beta

Quoting: morbiusWhat other Mech game is there for Linux?

I played and quite liked Hawken back in my Windows days, I wouldn't mind having something like that.
Heavy Gear Assault comes to mind. It's also in Early Access.

Also, the original "Horizons" game was on Linux: "Dark Horizons Lore:Invasion," published by good old GarageGames back in 2005 (same developer).

Quoting: scaineI don't get who/what these cards are aimed at? This behemoth will likely retail for well over a grand, given that the plain 1080s are still around the £500-600 mark and the TI edition is £800-900. I mean, there's top-end gaming, and then there's just flushing money out the window!
Hey, even Oprah needs a good graphics card.

OpenGL vs Vulkan in Mad Max, re-tested
5 Apr 2017 at 12:07 am UTC

I get frame drops into the 50s and 40s while driving. Is it because my CPU is too slow? I have an i5 3350P, with an Nvidia GTX 970.

The max fps is better with vulkan, but the minimum seems to be the same, which makes the experience less smooth, even with settings turned all the way down. Is there any way to get a consistent 60 fps?

Some notes and benchmarks about a performance regression in Mad Max's OpenGL rendering
31 Mar 2017 at 11:10 pm UTC

Quoting: Adam_eMI am generally experiencing some significant frame skips in Mad Max just recently, but it was ok earlier. It's worth to mention however, but the game performance seems far better when using Vulkan. Oh by the way, do you know any applications that can show FPS'es and stuff while running a game? I know of GLXOSD but it doesn't show any output when running the Vulkan beta. And also, it seems to stuck on 60fpses in any game.
It's definitely faster for me, but I've noticed the skipping/stuttering as well, even when it's above 60 fps. Hopefully, they can iron that out. I didn't try it with the framerate smoothing enabled. Would that help?

XCOM 2 updated by Feral to support Long War 2

Quoting: GuestWhy are so many people complaining about difficulty of XCOM 2? It's really not that hard, especially on normal difficulty.
Maybe I am just daft at these things but XCOM2 makes me feel like I have to rush towards everything. I get that there is a time limit (the Avatar project) and that the XCOM group is not the same as it was in the previous game but I still feel like I have to go towards a certain path in research or whatever or otherwise I will be completely underpowered.
Exactly, which is why mods are a must-have for me. I didn't like some of the changes they made from EU/EW, so I need my mods to make the gameplay enjoyable again.

The difficulty I've had with XCOM 2 is getting mods working again. They used to work for me, but something went wrong.
